You can look at Calzaghe's record on boxrec and take what you want from that. But you can only discuss his career. That's a debate which will go on for years I'm guessing

I don't think that anybody can watch Calzaghe in the ring and say that he is not () a seriously talented fighter and one of the best SMWs of all time, say what you want about his career but in terms of pure boxing ability I don't see how anybody can say otherwise.

Floyd has the better resume, and more career accomplishments at 30 than Calzaghe has at 36... Hope that helped

.....this argument over joe will never end and it's partially his own fault. First for spending too much of his career not fighting in the u.s. (then crying about people in the U.S. not liking him) and when he does fighting two past thier prime old men which might have been impressive but years ago. I for one think joe is a great fighter and don't necessarily like or dislike the guy but walk around my office and ask who he is and most here after all he's done still don't know who he is till you point our specific fights like "the guy who fought jones last or the guy who fought b-hop etc...." Then on the way out he acts as if he's boxing and we're lucky to have the sport even continue without him, I'd be satisfied if i were him, he's not american and he got the respect of the people who matter most his home country, most of the boxing media and his friends and family. Boxing fans will be split on the guy but the overall love from the general public he wants he will never get, no use letting dawson whoop on him for really no reason. On the grand scale of things and just in my opinion mayweather was a much better fighter in the ring and more known outside of it but just like floyd good riddence (however you spell it) there are tons of great fights to be made and floyd isn't going to loose and joe aint gonna fight anyone who is any real threat to him anymore anyways both should find something else to do and retire on top instead of trying to convince every last person on the planet how good they are cause they will never be able to convince as many people as they'd like.

(So what! It doesn't mean that Floyd had more accomplishments than Joe or that he faced better fighters than Joe)

I don't beleive Mayweather Jr could fight past 35 and be any kind of challenge. Even Floyd knows he's done and even admits his body can't take it anymore. First, he doesn't have the will, Second he doesn't have right body frame. (to skinny) He's already slowed down to the point he gets hit even though his is considered in his prime. Lastly, he's retired and is not going to fight anymore. Show me the date of his next fight, else talk about the man in the past tense not the present. Floyd' was a great fighter at super featherweight. A good fighter at Jr Welterweight/Welterweight. His last few fights were based on the most earnings with the least amount of risk. And that would be true for most any fighter in the position he was in.

Take a look at the p4p rankings and tell me where Floyd is ranked.

You can compare both fighters records/resumes and come up with facts that show they were great fighters. You can also look at both fighters careers and come up with facts that depict them as 'cherry pickers' but it is all subjective and pointless. The truth is there is no way to compare the greatness of fighters unless they have fought the same fighters. With these two it is not possible. So all anybody can really do is argue about who they think is greater.
