I'm sure it isn't just vaseline that you buy over-the-counter at your local drug store. Emanuel Steward has had interesting pieces on HBO about all three major types used by the best trainers. The price ranges for these are around $70 per bottle. I know one is called avotene or something close to that..just wondering if anyone else knew any details?

Petroleum Jelly, people add things because they think its a new idea. Mentioned this before, before a Title fight we got this guy in because He was our connection in the States. Now He had World Champs on His Portfolio, so when asked if He could Vaseline the fighter I agreed. Two minutes later there was a scream from the Fighter saying He was Blind couldnt see. I asked what was in the vaseline He sheepishly said Newskin, I thought what a prick 15 minutes to go and Ive got a blind Fighter. I laid the Kid down and put slowly into the eye Adrenalin 1/1000 He said what will that do. My reply its the best eyewash there is, He Oh I didnt know that, Me no I dont suppose you did you thick cunt. The kid won. Another thing why put vaseline in a cut, how is the Adrenalin going to work

Yeah, you can get it at about any drug store. Ringside sells a 13oz tub of it for $4.

I never got why they'd stuff the cut with vaseline, I figured that they thought that was the way to plug a leak.

Nowadays anyone that has vaseline and some q-tips can call themselves a cut-man. I've heard of cut-men in the past having their own anti-coagulant concoctions, but is there anything that works better than adrenaline?

Vaseline is used as a preventative measure against abrasion.
When heads are close it helps reuce the impact of some of the knocks and with laces etc. it may stop the slicing.

Its not used to treat cuts; its used to seal cuts once adrenalin has been applied. Guess Scrap already said that.
