You can compare Margarito to Castillo though and alot of people think Castillo beat Floyd. The Mexican outlanded Floyd by alot . Mosley is by far the best person hes been up against. Zab Judahs speed gave him problems early . Mosley though can maintain the speed but he has power and heart too.
There's a lot of leaps and skips in there. I thought Castillo beat Floyd the first time, but he certainly proved Castillo couldn't do it again. Zab gave Floyd problems early, but what happened around round 3-4? He adjusted. Zab's speed became a non-issue. You also have to look at it from the other side. Mosley has a tendency to become discouraged when he knows he's losing. You saw it in the 2nd Forrest fight and in both losses to Wright. Shane's body language changed midway through the fight and he didn't fight the same. Winky lit a fire under him when he let that fortress of a guard down and Shane commenced to smacking him with a few shots to which Winky just smiled at him and covered back up. After that Shane knew he had no chance. What happens when Mayweather shuts it down the same way?
Oops
I think this fight would be the chance for PBF to become a legend. If he were to show up and fight it would be legendary. Sadly, I would expect him to talk a lot and fight the last ten seconds of the last round.
PBF could outrun Shane for a decision, landing little and avoiding all exchanges.
If they actually fought and tried to hurt one another (which Shane always does) Shane beats PBF in a very close and competitive fight which both guys show their metal and becomes a classic. PBF finally earns the respect of the fans and proves he deserves to be an all time great.
You might want to check that fight again..shane wobbled winky and wink had to grab him to keep from going down...i remember the exchange from merchant and jones jr who were calling the fight that night...
after winky dropped his guard:
JONES JR: Aww he hurt Wink!
MERCHANT: What on earth was Wright doing? I think he was intent on showing mosley that he couldn't hurt him...
JONES JR: Yeah well he didn't show him the truth because he did hurt him, hurt him bad too.
MERCHANT: Yeah and you know something Roy he was smart because he went to the body first
JONES JR: yeah that was very smart...
Another thing is while many people love to say things like
Well floyd is no margarito, or look how vernon and winky did this and that to shane....But they never seem to be objective and say
Well shane is no judah, gatti, or baldomir. And Floyd's isnt as big as winky or long as Vernon. in fact Shane's arms are longer than floyd's and he's much stronger.

I recall Wink smiling at him. I recall him covering back up after that and then his corner yelling at him. I don't remember Mosley doing anything else significant.
You're right. Shane is no Judah, Gatti or Baldomir. I wasn't the one comparing. It was whomever saying Floyd is no Margarito. I really was just countering an argument. Floyd would have to work a lot harder than he did versus Judah because Mosley has a lot more heart, a lot more punch than Baldomir (and probably just as much chin) and he can box a helluva lot better than Gatti. To think that Floyd's victories over those 3 means anything against Mosley would be a mistake.
Oops
I understand...i should have clarified my point...the latter part was directed at those that actually do try to use pbf victories over those guys as arguments as to him beating shane.
And the second winky fight the score was 115-113 go have gone either way....you should check it out again.
