It's not about them looking different or flattening out.....if Margarito's trainer knew what he was doing then nobody would have been able to tell a difference.

Why would Margo use Plaster in sparring?
Margarito might have started using plaster in sparring when Paul Williams kicked his ass in sparring...

Seriously, sparring is where you simulate the actual fight... Isn't it nice to already have the familiar feel (the weight, the hardness) of the plastered wraps starting at sparring sessions??

BTW, these are just speculations that might be proven to be true too...

Would they stoop so low as to do this for sparring?

    Here's Rashad Holloway's story:

link --> Holloway Reflects on Fateful Margarito Sparring Session - Boxing News

"Holloway's career was put in jeopardy during a December 19 sparring session with Margarito in Montebello, California. Both were preparing for fights; Holloway's was the following week while Margarito was gearing up to tango with Sugar Shane a month later. What started out as his final day of sparring nearly became his last day of boxing.

"To be honest, it happened so quick that I don't even know what happened," Holloway, 9-1 (5 KO), tells BoxingScene.com. "I remember he threw a wild right hand and I slipped it and he switched over to a southpaw stance and threw a left uppercut. And it landed.

"When it first happened, I didn't know what hit me. I've been hit 50 million times in my career, but I'd never been hit with a shot that hurt like that. It felt like a hard object hit me in the face. I thought he hit me with the palm of his hand. It wasn't like a normal punch. It didn't feel like a padded glove hit me. It was like a solid, hard impact.

"It felt like I had been hit with a bag of rocks."

That's called slander and defamation of character.

The only thing that can be proved is that there was a foreign substance on the wraps before the Mosley fight. Whether or not Tony knew is going to come down to speculation and hearsay unless someone can provide some evidence of Margo saying "These altered handwraps are really going to give me an unfair advantage".

No way he did it in sparring. For starters, most pros use 16 oz gloves in sparring so hardening his wraps would be dumb. Hed just elect to spar with 14oz gloves. Sparring isnt about beating up and finishing off the guy in front of you, its about sharpening your own tools. If he hurt Rashad like he says, and thats what his intentions were, then he would have finished him off, which he didnt. In sparring, you get hit with good shots, just like in a fight but Margarito would have nothing to gain if his sole purpose in sparring was to ko everybody.

    Cotto v Margarito
That would be the whole idea though, you would make sure they looked perfectly normal or you would get pulled on it.

The thing is we don't know what the hell was in his wraps so I can't tell you how easy it would be to hide, I'm gonna get my wraps out tomorrow and see what I can stick in it and I'll post a pic, because I'm curious as to what you can get in there and still give your knuckes adequate protection.

Thats what Freddie roach was going on about, but that makes zero since.Say what ya want but I sincerly boubt it happened.

WTF happened to Margarito testifying. One minute he was about to and then no reports of what he said His trainer admitted,in an azz backwards fashion to his putting "training pads" in his wraps. What exactly are those? And why do they say in article they are still waiting on results ??I can not take away the mans past and think we can not prove shit as to what might have been then, what next, take every fighter he has trained and trash them also?...but they sure as shit handed them his future and pissed it away.Let him and camp suffer consequences!!!!Feeling pretty fucked up!!!
Dan Rafael reported that Margarito testified that he had no idea the plaster was in his raps. I guess the panel did not think that was credible.

Well he didnt know what he was doing or he want good at it. He was found out cause the wraps appeared different. So they looked normal in the Cotto fight, but not in the Mosley fight. Same trainer wrapped his hands, so it may be an isolated incident.

No one know when he did or didn't use this stuff, they both took a chance they got caught serves them right. Or is this going to be another " i didn't know i was taking steroids route....i don't belive any of them and i don't belive tony or his trainer either. Serves these two right. It's fair to assume these guys used this shit in sparring, cooking, dancing, whatever, that's part of cheating we can assume whatever we want true or false he put himself in that position. I don't think he did but it's fair for those that do. These guys gotta watch the company they keep....ride in the car when you homey guns down an old lady in front of bingo and your ass gets charged all the same.....and no one will care if it was the first time, you didn't know blah blah. This sport is dangerous enough as it is.......and people hate floyd.......amazing.

I think he was a lot more closely watched by Mosleys camp this time around. A guy like Richardson would not miss a trick I would imagine.

How about certain Cal State Boxing Officials? Are they not culpable as well? Hell, it was Nazeem who discovered the situation. Where were the morons from the CSBC?

Well I think Rashad Holloway already suspecting there's something in Margarito's gloves on that fateful sparring session... I can't blame him...

Well I must say I am very disappointed....Along with Pavlik, Tony was my fave current fighter; like those rough and rugged, just plow their way through a fight type fighter; but I despise a cheater and so I hope he gets any bad karma coming to him.....A dangerous sport in the best of circumstances; potentially deadly when someone does something like this....Shame on them and now I have to go find another fave fighter....Sum' b#aaaatch

Again there is no reason to use plaster in sparring. Absolutely no reason.
