Turpin - Sugar ray, and Honeyghan - Curry ....... I definitely agree. The guys were the undisputed number one fighter on the planet, near their peaks and they got beat fair and square.

Laing and Duran is up there too, but Duran was slightly past his best and clearly hadn;t even bothered to train!!!

I dont agree about benn - McClellan as Nigel would always have a punchers chance against anyone. It was actually a good fight for him (guy was coming up in weight for the foirst time, fighting at home, Benn was the experienced guy, McClellan hadnlt been tested)

Good points,thought along the same lines there at the time.Many of the Media slighted & over looked Benn in that one,Pointing to his shaky chin and his previous few fights in which he had boxed more,not shown that bombing style,some fools actually asked if he had lost his power .On a large scale,It was expected that Gerald would go in and destroy him...ala Julian Jackson.I do think McClellan had been tested and pretty legitimized in those two.Especially the first scrap,he was stunned,absorbed some big hits and came back in devastating fashion.People were talking of McClellan as Boxings p4p biggest hitter,riding a huge KO streak.And you know how the Media looooves its undefeated big hitters lol.I think Ferdie Pacheco put it best in hindsight..."McClellan and camp let his reputation go to his head"....and many ate it up.Actually Benn was improving and adding to his game.The best thing Imo that happened to him was getting dropped and hurt early in with a tremendous straight puncher like McClellan......He reverted and had to go back to all out hard shots.In a way,it may of helped deflate The G-Man also.Pne that would not fold.If he had waited and tried to box it out...McClellan may have just cleaned him up in short order.Once McClellan was backed up and pressured with similar big power,Benn had him.
