Most Americans want the stimulus bill. It's fairly clear to most folks that with business investment/spending and consumer spending in freefall the only people capable of propping up demand are the government and that's why the stimulus bill is so popular.

Jindal is a grandstanding buffoon who will reject about 2% of the money he's given. He's only doing it to get a few headlines, I think most people can see him for what he is.

I just don't understand why conservatives are so upset about government deficits and spending all of a sudden. Where were you for the last eight years?

You are just plain wrong on both accounts but you are too fucking stubborn to listen to reason. All I can point to is Jindal's successes. You can go ahead and worship your liberal martyrs like Jimmy Carter....I hope you are happy when the populus wakes up and finds out that Obama is a total fraud.

It took a while for the Republican Congress to spend as much as the Democrats have....they just started out and BANG we're talking billions and TRILLIONS of dollars in single pieces of legistlation and then we have a President who says and I quote "The usual earmarks and pork aren't in this bill" and that is 100% total bullshit and you know it.

67% of Americans support the stimulus. Only about 25% of Americans support GOP grandstanding over the bill.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOxRZ3rKtEM

The GOP inhwerited a budget surplus, abandoned spensding rules and went on the biggest spending binge in history. They doubled the national debt in eight ywears from five to ten trillion and then have printed up to another ten trillion in welfare for the banks.

The Democrats inherited the biggest financial crisis for a century. They've spent less than 10% of the money the GOP spent so far propping up the banks on the stimulus and the stimulus is only needed to prevent total catastrophe brought on by the GOP abandooning regulation of the banks 2000-8. It's just an attempt to mop up the disaster of the Bush years.

Seriously, when am I ever wrong about anything?

Even if Americans wanted a stimulus package the majority of them wanted a different one than this one.

A Gallup poll asked people if they wanted Obama's Stimulus Bill to pass...survey SAYS

    38% said pass as proposed
37% said pass with MAJOR changes
    17% said reject the plan
    8% had no opinion

So if you break that down 54% (37% Major Changes and 17% Reject) of American's didn't want OBAMA'S Stimulus Bill passed

Killersheep, is more dependence on the Federal Government better or worse for you?

Right now it is more certainly better to rely on the Federal Government, we've spent the last 8 years counting on corporate America to do the right thing and you know the rest of the story. Fundamentally we disagree on the what causes unemployment, I don't think we will ever find a middle ground here. Follow me on this, what I would like to see happen is to spend the next 4-8 years doing what this plan does and riding it out, and once the spice (money) is flowing again, then we can get a nice conservative (fiscally, not socially) government in place to tame the beast.

Jindal rejected that money because of the fact they wanted to make the changes to the unemployment benefits permenant which would cause states to have to raise taxes to pay for the cost when the federal money stopped coming.....pretty wise choice in my view

Again, you could try reading the paper before you go and get it wrong again :

A senior aide to Landrieu agreed that the state would have to change the law to take advantage of the windfall but said the change would not have to be permanent. Instead, the Legislature could write the new law with a "sunset provision" so it expires when the federal stimulus dollars run out.

    It's just grandstanding.

LOL at the Republicans rising stars, now you've got two clowns, as if Palin wasn't enough you've got Jindal now who's a bit peadophilish. Just a bit.

What an idiot though, fucking hell. His rationale that Katrina showed that big government was wrong was stupid even for a Republican. And then you've got the creepy factor, what a candidate.

I am greatly enjoying watching the Republicans knock on the door of the dustbin of history. Implode fuckers.
