No offense but Vitali should be asking himself how he got that title shot in the first place.

Wasnt he champion emiritus?

I think that there is something to be said for being clear best heavyweight (aside from Wlad) out there. With his age and the shape of the division, why should he have ot fight shit fights when he has only a few fights left?
Alright so all you have to do as a fighter is have a title and get injured and then you can come back years later and get an automatic title shot?

Does that mean that if Lennox Lewis comes out of retirement they have to take away Vitali's title since Lewis was Champion Emiritus before him?

Personally i've never heard of that happening for a fighter aside from the time they did it for Vitali.

And why "shouldn't" he fight his mandatories? Who else is he gonna fight? There's only 2 fights in the heavyweight division actually worth talking about, you actually want him to do those first and then what happens to the heavyweight division? Nothing.

They are gonna draw out these "big fights" to give them a chance to build up other fighters to bring interest back into heavyweight boxing where its pretty much non existant.
When a guy who is always injured probably has less than 2 fights left in him, yes. He should fight the very best. He shouldn't have to hope that his body stays together for another 4 years to build a legacy.
