You know for a fact? There's no such thing till after the fight. Also Cotto can't fight like Collazo, who is able to make even some of the best conditioned fighters feel gassed, & Berto showed real character to pull out those championship rounds. Right now I don't think he beats Cotto, unless Cotto does suffer from a post-Margarito breakdown against a top fighter, but in a year or so he would be good enough I think. I think a fight against Quintana would be the next best move, although a rematch with Collazo is good too, I think Berto will simply pull out a stronger victory.
If he gives Collazo a rematch big respect to Berto and his team. Luis has well earned it.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
Agreed, It was a good fight as well, not one I would mind seeing a rematch of....
I am not a Berto fan but the guy is coming along, I think he fights any of the other champions he loses the title for sure but he is willing, game, has heart and strives to improve...# or 4 years I think it might be a polished product we sing the praises of.......
Plus he has a good attitude which is always good for the face of the sport

I am not trying to bring the other thread over to this one, but Berto doesn't gas out unless he is in a war, it was Collazo that gased out, watch Berto against Estrada or Forbes, he was staying strong despite having such a tiring style. I agree Berto squres up and gets sloppy, but against Forbes he showed that he could fight very effectively defensively for a while fight, I think he knew Collazo couldn't hurt him, like so other opponents so he was willing to take shots to land shots. I guarantee he would fight better against Cotto, I am not saying he would win, but he wouldn't be sloppy.
I know for a fact if Cotto got hit by some of those punches Collazo did he would have been knocked out.
are you kidding me? Berto was dropped by Cosme Rivera, his corner had to cut off his glove between rounds to buy him time, and he was already sucking in wind there, Berto has gassed out on more than one occasion, and to say that Collazo couldn't hurt Berto is just ridiculous, Collazo ROCKED THE SHIT OUT OF BERTO IN THE 1ST ROUND! Cotto isn't chinny at welter, Mosley is a waaaay harder puncher than Collazo at welter and Cotto took his shots very well
Wow you are begining to look like an idiot. Berto had no feet behind him when Collazo connected with that left cross, he wasn't hurt at all, just caught off balance, much like Toney was against Roy JOnes in the third round. Berto had a flash knockdown against Rivera, and he didn't need the glove thing, he was fine, and talking fine in the corner that is just a bunch of bs. Also where has he been gased exactly, except in the grueling fight he had with Collazo? The same guy who pushed Hatton to the very limits with far less preparation? Maybe you should watch more boxing, and stop arguing ignorantly about it.
Berto definitely got rocked by Callazo, but that's not something to be ashamed of. Callazo can catch people with good shots at angles that are hard to see. I didn't have Berto winning that fight (only 1 point), but I am not mad about the decision. Hell, the judges are sitting right next to the fighters I am watching it on my extremely large HD TV.
Using the common opponent theory.. having Mosley win wide-margin with Callazo and Berto squeezing out a decision.. It's gonna be a hard case to say that Berto would be able to win rounds against Cotto. He sure as hell isn't going to knock him out.
"Floyd needs to inject Xylocaine into his balls to gain the courage to fight Pacquiao."
- and I quote from some random guy on the internet
Berto was hurt against Collazo more than once, maybe if your eyes were on the fight and not so much on his cock you'd see that, hell i'm not even gonna argue with you nutthugger, JT Rock said it clearly enough in the other thread
you need to get off the tap a.e. Berto and Pacquiao's nuts, and wake up, Pacquiao deserves credit for how much he's improved in a technical stand point, and deserves credit for taking on Hatton now at 140, but don't try and act like he beat the DLH that won against the likes of Quartey and Fernando Vargas, and you wanna bring up the win against Mayorga, and the fight against B-Hop and Mayweather. Those fights weren't 10 yrs ago, but they all came by the time that Oscar was a part time fighter, if DLH would have remained fully dedicated to fighting maybe he would have been sharper and have more left in the tank and Pacquiao's win would be worth a hell of a lot more than it is now, but that's not what happened......all i know is that whoever wins May 2nd better get full credit, if Pacquiao wins he beats Hatton, he moved up to 140 to face Ricky at his best weight, a weight he has never been beaten, and Hatton is still in his prime, but if Ricky wins i don't want to hear no bullshit excuses that Manny was too small etc.
I don't think Berto's style is bad for Miguel Cotto.....Cotto has been in with speedy guys before and he's handled them pretty well.
Andre Berto has never been in with anyone like Cotto and he doesn't seem to take punches very well either. Speed may be able to beat power but timing wins the day and Cotto has PERFECT timing.
Cotto would absolutely destroy Luis 'Graveyard Teeth' Collazo too
Wow I had no idea dealing with severly handicapped intellects could be so frustrating. Honestly, its like trying to teach a little kid how to do physics, even though it makes perfect sense, even though its entirely plausible, it just goes way over their depth of contemplation. I am flabbergasted by the ignorance some people have.
Berto was perfectly fine as soon as he got his feet back underneath him on the ropes, notice how when he went backwards he was flailing his arms like somebody that was caught off balance, it looked exactly like what happened to James Toney. If you are hurt you have shacky legs, Berto didn't at all. After that one punch Berto landed pretty much every clean shot in the round. Collazo knew he was hurt, thats why he didn't jump in for the kill after Berto clinched him. Honestly I've watched this fight ten times as much as any of you(unless ICB is on here), and Berto was never hurt in the fight, sometimes he was overwhelmed by Collazo's combinations, but he was never shaky or showing any signs people do when they are hurt. Also if he had such bad stamina how does he throw like 800 punches the way he does? How come he is still throwing punches as fast as he does in the first round when the other guy slows down. Collazo is in great shape and this was the first fight he could fully focus on, and it was Berto who came on strong in the last two rounds, Collazo was only throwing arm punches for most of the night yet it was Berto who was throwing with mean intention in the twelth. It was Berto who was throwing the hard punches in the 11th against Estrada, it was Berto who was still throwing hard, faster punches in the 11th and 12th round against Steve Forbes.
