Based on recent performances I think this fight will be competitive. A Mora win actually wouldn't even shock me. Pavlik had shown he's clearly one-dimensional.

Good choice for Kelly. Relatively easy fight, against a fighter that a few casual fans will remember.
Tough fight for Mora. Man vs Boy.
Mora tends to fight to par with the opposition no matter who he fights. Reguardless of what people think about him, he can fight and he has a good chin. I dont know if hell beat Pavlik, but he can outbox him imo.
Psalm 144: Blessed be the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle
I can see Mora frustrating the shite out of Pavlik for a while.Pavlik has shown no improvements to me.I just dont think sergio has the firepower to ultimatly keep Pavlik off...think Pav would be better suited going to the body big time rather than head.
Yeah, I can see Mora having some success early, but not able to keep Pavlik off towards the later rounds. Hopefully it won't turn into an ugly Mora "trying to survive" mess. I'm a little surprised at this match up, but I guess there're not too many name MWs, other than AA; which has been discussed ad nauseam? Wasn't there talk of Duddy a while back? I guess he's not ready, if he'll ever be.
Arum revealed that the June or July next title defense for middleweight champion Kelly “The Ghost” Pavlik is going to be against Sergio Mora. It will be part of a huge PPV TV show which will include bouts taking place in Mexico.
So this means they will be fighting on the Margarito card.
If Sergio can borrow Tony's PLASTER, Sergio will have no problem putting some lumps on Kelly's head
I like both these fighters and each should know how to beat the other but who will have a better game plan? I hope it turns out to be a good fight though. I wonder who Margacheater is going to be facing?
Arum is such a prick, whatever happened to the unification match with Abraham. Unlike most others on here I ain't got a problem with Mora, but for me he's a LMW, & it shows how pathetically they're playin it safe with Pavlik after the B-Hop loss. One thing I'll say is I bet you don't see Cotto going for a rematch with Zab Judah in his next fight, he'll at least take on Mosley or Clottey. Seriously since the Taylor wins, the only good opponent Pavlik has been up against is Hopkins & look what happened there. Gary Lockett, Marco Antonio Rubio & Sergio Mora are just not good enough fights for a guy who is supposedly the best Middleweight in the world. If he is he should fight Abraham & it seems clear to me Top Rank are just waiting till the point that Abraham can no longer stay at the weight. This has pissed me off big time.
Thats the problem with Boxing.
Really fed up of watching predictable one sided beatdowns especially when the fights that you'd expect to be exciting aren't even screened over here.....Berto - Collazo for example.
Getting really boring watching Pavlik and Abraham both fighting piss poor fighters. It's not even building up suspense to a super-fight anymore. It's beyond a joke.
Sergio is no B Hop. I think Kelly wins this fight on the cards. Once Sergio figures out he cant win he will make it an ugly stinkfest..........
I don't mind Mora atall, he's just a little small for this division. I see Mr 2D Pavlik walking him down and not being deterred in the slightest by what Mora has to offer.
I know he took a real good hiding from BHop but Pavlik really needs to get a bit more back for himself than beating Sergio Mora. Surely people don't really want to see this.
I love Mora. This guy just has balls pure and simple. Nobody knew who he was until he won The Contender, after this accomplishment goes on to fight the junior middleweight champ Vernon Forrest and wins,he then loses the rematch and now he signs to fight Pavlik. A very rare class act outside the ring. What can you not like about this guy. It just sucks he has to fight Pavlik.
Mora is a tougher fight for Pavlik than Duddy, another potential opponent before the AA fight. Mora is a former champ at jr. middleweight and a tricky fighter. If he is waiting on Abraham, then this is really not a bad fight in the interim. Too bad it is a PPV or I'd say that it wasn't all that bad of a move.
On that note, why are people putting down Pavlik for not fighting Abraham, rather than vice versa? Why are people putting down Pavlik's choice of opponents and not Abraham's? Be fair.
Pavlik has taken the tougher road in recent times. Who has Abraham fought recently that is worth mentioning? Speaking of which, who the hell is Lajuan Simon? Inititially, I thought he was a lesser-known European fighter, but it turns out he is from Philly! It's just that he has never fought anyone remotely known and is completely untested. Talk about a Gary Lockett, but actually he isn't quite as accomplished as Gary Lockett. And he isn't close to a Sergio Mora. Wait, Pavlik fought Lockett after fighting Jermain Taylor. Maybe AA deserved a breather because his last fight was against an elite opponent? Uhmm...No - it was against Raul Marquez!! When was the last time Abraham was tested? Khoren Ghevor? Maybe the first Edison Miranda fight? Please. Indeed, who is AA's biggest win? Please hold AA to the same standard you hold Pavlik.
Pavlik v. Abraham is a tough fight to call, 50-50 really. I'm a big fan of both. I may lean toward AA in a fight between the two, but I hold AA in high regard.
