    Default Amir Khan Thanks Pacquiao

    link --> KHAN THANKS PACQUIAO

"Amir Khan hails Manny Pacquiao as the inspiration behind his brilliant win against Marco Antonio Barrera and admits he would "love" to return the favour by helping his training partner beat Ricky Hatton.

The 22-year-old dismantled Mexican great Barrera to record a fifth-round technical-decision victory in Manchester last night and atone for his shocking knockout defeat by Breidis Prescott in September.
Khan produced a slick, technically brilliant performance to ensure he was comfortably ahead when the fight was stopped in the fifth round because of a cut above Barrera's left eye, apparently caused by an accidental clash in the first.

The Bolton fighter was quick to acknowledge the contribution of new trainer Freddie Roach as well as sparring partner Pacquiao, who also trains under the American.

After the fight, Khan - who described the win as "easy" - said: "Barrera landed a few left hooks to the body, a few to the head and a few right hands. That's boxing - it's going to happen - but I felt so sharp and kept moving.

"It was the same way Manny beat him. He made it easy, hit him and moved, hit him and moved.

"When I was speaking to Manny he said that's the way to beat him - and that's what we did.

"I spoke to him in the changing room after the fight - he was watching it in America, and he was over the moon.

"It has paid off by listening to the right people."

With Pacquiao taking on Mancunian Hatton in May, Khan admits he has split loyalties.

However, the 2004 Olympic lightweight silver medallist is happy to return to Los Angeles to help whip his Filipino friend into shape.

"Yes, it does me good as well," said Khan.

"He's the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world - and if I can handle him and spar really well against him, then it's going to take me to the next level.

"I'd love to help him, because he's a friend. We have a good chat; we go for a run together in the mountains and stuff.

"He helps me out with some good advice, and it's good to have someone to look up to."

Khan almost got his head knocked off in sparring with Pac. And now he's thankful for that.

That's how you should prepare for a fight... Train hard, punish yourself in training/sparring and the fight will be easy...

This is the right mentality for young prospects... They should have an idol to look for as an inspiration... They should have a high standard to compare and try to achieve for... They should befriend a top boxing idol for that person can give them helpful tips, advices and guidance in future fights... The experience of top boxers is priceless...

Amir Khan made the right decision in having Pacquiao as his boxing idol...

Yep he's trying to be Pacquiao, may'be struggle early in his career and becoming one of the best in the world. You can easily tell that he trained with Pacquiao because everytime he got hit he would throw his arms up in the air.

The most hated fans in this board/forum... Amir Khan fans and PAC fans...

Seriously, young boxing prospects should take a look at what Khan is doing with regards to having an idol to look upon to... It could work wonders with their respective boxing careers too...

I think fighitng Pacquiao helped, and Amir Khan could be a threat to anyone in the division people forget he is like 22 years old. Some guys don't need a great chin to go far in the sport, hopefully he will improve enough defensively for that to be the case. I think he is a great for the sport, and he can be very strong cultural influence which is great.

    .

It's about time you realized that all you posts are blah, blah, blah.

Seriously, do you see anyone else here, ever post who a fighter thanks after a fight? NO.

Because every fighter always has someone that they thank after a fight, and it would be stupid to flood this site with the thank you's of every fight.

This is just another way for you to push your Pac propaganda bull$hit once again.

Don't you realize by now that everyone is so tired of you polluting the main board with your crap?
