But when he fights a proper top level lightweight he's going to outspeed and outpoint them but will inevitably get sparked at some point in the twelve rounds. If it wasn't for his mandible he could be a world beater. He's extended the big payday portion of his career for a few fights with that performance though. Maybe he can get through a couple of world title fights without somebody managing to land on his chin but I doubt it.
There was barely a couple minues of boxing so we cant call that domination . I dont think Barrera landed a decent shot on Khan cuz he was blinded but at the end of the fight Khan looked like he had been in a scrap . Imagine if Barrera was able to see where he was landing his punches and Khan couldnt see em coming cuz he was blinded. It would be a totally different fight .
I watched it again and thought Khan landed some good punches before the cut. If Khan had the cut instead I think the ref would have stopped it before Barrera knocked him out. If Barrera hadn't been cut he would have been dangerous for the whole twelve rounds. He might have lost every round but KO'd Khan in the twelfth. And he's a short, slowing, old guy whose best days were fighting at a stone lighter than he was on Saturday. Put Khan in against somebody who can punch the weight and he's going to get tagged at some point no matter how fast he is and how careful he is.
I'm watching the fight again and you could hear a pin drop in the thired, fourth rounds at some points. It seems like the arena was pro-MAB. Is that right, people who were there?
