My Grandad who fought in WW2 through its entirety died 2-3 years back, did he get a priministers eulogy.....like fuck did he!!!

Not sure I understand this logic at all. Jade's death has been very public because her life was very public. Anybody as much in the public eye as Jade Goody would have their death covered in great detail.

I'm sure your grandad was a great man but he wasn't famous in life so why would he be famous in death?

As for the people paying her respects now being those who booed her and hated her in the past I don't actually think thats true. All over the internet there are thousands of whiny bastards telling the world how useless they thought she was completely oblivious to the fact that making a song and dance about a poor mum who has just died a tragic death makes them far worse on any social scale than she was.

How can people not see the hypocrisy in slagging Jade off because she was gobby and nasty when she got into arguments for example and then think its ok for them to sit in judgement of a complete stranger and tell the world they thought she was a waste of space.


Jade was simply a normal working class common girl, like millions of others around the country, People despised her mainly becuase she is just one of them, simple like them, petty like them, argumentative like then, undeserving of fame and fortune like them.

Nobody who says Jade is a waste of space and acts like her death is a good or funny thing is any better than Jade Goody as a person, in fact imo they are far worse.

It's events like this that show the true character of people and those so blind and impervious to human suffering that they can use someone's tragic death in order to make a point are just horrible people in my eyes.

Jade should be treated with respect because she was a human being, a mother, a daughter, a wife and she died a horrible death.

If someone refuses to give her that respect becuase she's not 'worth it' then they themselves are not worth respect either.

Natasha Richardson was a talented and celebrated stage and screen actor... did she get a Eulogy from the prime minister?!...

But firstly her death wasn't covered step by step and filmed like Jade's was and secondly, rightly or wrongly millions of people in this country were interested in Jade Goody and so her death struck a chord. Thirdly Natasha Richardson lives in New York not the UK.

If Natasha had died a lingering death with a camera crew documenting her final events, if she was a household name with millions of working class chavy people around the country and if she actually lived in the UK then you can guarantee she would have got a eulogy.

As it is I'm sure many high profile people have paid tribute to Natasha and her tragic death last week. A lot of people can relate to Jade Goody, she's been called the Chav Princess, she's just a common girl, one of the common people. Common people (of whom there are millions in the uk) clearly relate to her much more than a wealthy socialite from acting aristocracy who lived a life of splendour on the other side of the world.

But put simply, Jaed Goody is more of a household name in the UK and her life hs been heavily documented since 2002 so she her life and death is interesting to a far larger demographic than Natasha Richardson.

Also Natasha may not have had her praise sung by the PM but she also hasn't had the indignity of several thousand hate threads posted all over the net and people who never met her publicly proclaiming what a fat fucking waste of space she was, I'd say it balances out

And what about other sports? Where was your concern for the Paralympic champion Oscar Pistorious who was in a boating accident on Saturday?

But mate, ignore the fact that its Jade Goody, its just she was famous beforehand and always in the media limelight so everyone knows her.

And her death played out over weeks with millions watching heart wrenching documentaries about those final weeks.

They watched as she went through her treatment, they watched as she lost her hair and spoke about her illness and how she couldn't find it within herself to tell her children.

They then watched her get married, they watched her get christened to prepare for her death and then when the cameras finally stopped filming they heard news that she had finally passed away.

Remember millions of people watched all these documentaries, just as millions of people had spent maybe hundreds of hours watching her over the course of two Big Brother shows, numerous other documentaries and tv appearances over the years, had read her books etc.

So for those millions of people they felt like they did know her and her death was shocking.


Here on this boxing forum we care passionately about Ali. Sadly the day will come when he passes on and if you could imagine watching those final weeks being filmed on national television, so you we all saw him preparing his goodbyes and gradually getting worse it would be gut wrenching to see.

When he finally died we would demand that he got treated with the proper respect and would mourn his death with feelings of genuine grief (at least most of us).

Now others who care nothing about boxing or Ali might just post things on forums around the net calling him a draft dodger, and all other kinds of crap. It would anger you, it would be blatently disrespectful.


Now I'm not putting Jade Goody anywhere near the same level as Ali in terms of greatness or stature please understand me, I'm just saying that for millions her death was profoundly upsetting for them because they had followed her life for half a decade and witnessed those final weeks on television, in the newspapers and magazines etc.

So the outpouring of grief is very real, for many people.

Just because she means nothing to you, or me or Miles doesn't mean we should disrespect her and shout about how little we give a fuck or how worthless we thought she was.

Can't people just be respectful of someones death that's all I'm saying.

When someone dies who is associated with boxing or football and they have a minutes silence at Old Trafford or they ring the 10 count at Maddison Square Garden people remain silent and respectful even if they don't know who the person is.

It's just basic human courtesy, it has nothing to do with Jade it has everything to do with us as human beings.

Anyway I will get off my stool now I think I've lectured long enough that some of you are wishing it was me who passed away last week
