Floyd Mayweather Jr. Would Beat Juan Manuel Marquez EASILY

I think lot of people would agree with the thread title.

Some say JMM is the small version of PBF. Now do the math (more like physics).

Looking at Mayweather vs De La Hoya, and how sharp Marquez has been against Pacquiao, I can't see Marquez being totally blown away, I think if Marquez applied intelligent pressure like Oscar did, and kept Mayweather on the ropes, whether he was landing or not he would be scoring points for aggression. I just don't think Mayweather will let Marquez dictate the pace if he can, that being said Marquez threw a ton of punches against Juan Diaz, and I am not sure if Mayweather is willing to take a shot to land a shot in order to impose his will on Marquez.

As for Marquez being a small Mayweather? How exactly? Besides being technically sound all round fighters they are totally different. Marquez is an offense first fighter who can throw a lot of punches and doesn't like being bullied around, he is your quintessential mexican tactical fihgter. Mayweather on the other hand is your quintessential african american flashy fighter, he utilizes speed, footwork, and defensive skills to not get hit, and he leaps in with punches, pot shots, keeps distance with the jab.

Floyd beats all 3.

He beats Hatton convincingly again
He is too big and classy for Pac
Same as above for Marquez but may take abit longer if teh negative Marquez turns up

The only guy Floyd needs to be fighting is Shane Mosley but Floyd wont take it.

I agree. All 3 are mismatches. He already impaled Hatton into the ring post once. As hilarious as it is to see there is no point in doing it again. Marquez would be game and try his hardest. But I got him losing a lopsided decision. While Mayweather is no longer in his prime. He's not the walking corpse De La Hoya was. And he's not the garbage David Diaz was. So the smoke and mirrors Pacquiao has been using won't be at his disposal against Mayweather. He would be completely out of his league and would most likely blame the lost on either his gloves or socks. Hell he might even come up with a new one.

Mayweather needs to fight Welterweights. That's it.

All of the recent speculation about Floyd Mayweather's return to the ring has focussed on a possible July 18 matchup against Juan Manuel Marquez. Is there also a meeting with "Sugar" Shane Mosley in his future?
At least that's the view of his estranged father, Floyd Mayweather Sr., who suggested his son will face Marquez later this year in preparation for bout with Mosley.

"Yeah, all he needs is two fights and he'll be ready for Shane," he said in an interview posted at FightHype.com. "Marquez ain't going to be nothing but a tune-up, somebody to pick apart like target practice."

Totally agreed on this... If you're a slick defensive boxer who uses a lot of movements then Chris John already made the blueprint for you on how to beat JMM... John is even the smaller boxer there... How much more if you're so much bigger and faster than JMM...
