is he the one that asked calzaghe about fighting dawson after the rjj fight?

Kellerman is on some uppers or something. I swear he is way too emphatic about some stuff. His eyes look like they are gonna pop outta his head sometimes.
Anyone catch when Kellerman talking to Calzaghe after BHop or RJJ. Kellerman asked him about getting off the mat in the Eubank fight years ago and Calzaghe just agreeing with him?
I was so confused. He knocked the socks off of Eubank in that first round. Had him hit the canvas in the first 15 seconds. I think Calz was not listening to him. I think he already had in his mind what he was going to say. You;d think he would correct him on that fact.
Any1?

- and I quote from some random guy on the internet
Max is not a bad color commentator and is next in line to take Jim Lampleys place for sure. Someone has to anyway because Jim is hitting 60 and Merchant is 78. And yes he does look a little high in some of the fights.
He takes alot of flack, but I like him.Clearly odd on camera but all in all hes solid. He's essentially Lampleys 'spell check' when Jim misreads his pre fight stat sheets and notes![]()
I know a lot of people doesn't like larry merchant but i think we need him because when he says something about an old school fighter, you can actually say its like he knew him more than any other commentator. Max would try to say something about a fighter in the 70s 80s but doesn't bring in that same ora when Larry tells it because we all know larry has seen a lot of live fights and met most of the fighters he talks about. Max to me is full of shit. Larry may be an old fart but i respect him more cause his been there. I think we need to keep Larry as long as we can and have Max kick rocks cause he makes hbo feel like showtime, boring commentating.
i thoguht his worse interview recently was his interview with juan diaz after he lost to jmm.
i remember that line, it must of hurt really bad
"HAVE YOU LEARNED NOTHING FROM YOUR FIGHT AGANIST NATE CAMPBEL"...WHAT AN ASSS ESP AFTER JUAN WAS KO
mind over speed and power
Max has paid his dues...
I think a lot of people don't know where he came from and what he's done in order to be there.
I'm not saying his opinions are right and or his word is final but Max does look at things from a neutral point whenever he analyses a subject.
People think Max career started with ESPN, when in reality it started yrs. before that in his living room as a teen.
Make no mistake about it, Max is a hardcore boxing analist. Not a "sports anchor" who was directed to boxing nope. Boxing is it for him it's been a part of him since his childhood.
Yes, yes, yes, you are right about that. You make compelling point. Boxing is his life. His SOMEWHAT prvilegd background helped out a bit too. The Kellermans as a family are very well off (assuming they stayed away from Bernie M). Still, Max is a bright guy and earned his OWN way. I'll conced that.
Actually, there is another side to Max as there is to most of us. His eulogy for his brother was something to behold. There was not a dry eye anywhere. He paid him a great tribute. I mentioned it in my first book in a chapter entitled, "The Memory Bank." I also said the following about his brother, Sam: "The incomprehensible circumstances surrounding Sam Kellerman’s death are almost too horrifying to fathom. Gifted and uncommonly multi-talented, Kellerman was an overachiever who had many friends in the New York City area. He was as bright as a new copper penny and had unlimited potential. When Sam Kellerman left us, we all lost. His memory surely will endure."

In a way,he's his own old school,Dude was doing cable access shows back then,no 'blogs' or mass media net shows, just plugging away, soaking it all up.I think hes just doing what each and every one of us might love an oppurtunity to experience, getting payed for "working" at something he loves. If we were all so lucky.Good for him, and his eyes ''
.
I think Kellerman should start listening to his critisisms.
So because of the fact he is "boxing hardcore" and has "paid his dues" we should all completely forget about the endless indescretions the guy makes over and over again and just ignore the fact the mans a byest moron just because he`s had to earn his right to be a moron the hard way!!!
Screw that............there are hundreds of kellermans out there who live and breath the sport doesnt mean every single one of them is entitled to make an ass of themselves every week infront of millions of fans.
If you genuinely believe from watching kellerman that he doesnt have byest pro-american and HBO boys in his mindset you clearly just arent paying close enough attention to the man and his ENDLESS array of faux-pas!!
one dangerous horrible bloke
Wow, this is a great exchange of views. Has me back in forth like a politician.
Maybe he is more like us than we want to admit. A boxing geek gone famous.![]()
