I think Barrera's team could make a good case for this being overturned. If they can prove that the cut was as bad in the first round as it was in the fifth, which I think they could then they could have the grounds for making it a no contest.
The critical point would be regarding Barrera's decision to carry on, but if he could convince the panel that the option to stop fighting wasn't properly communicated to him or his team then he would have a strong case.
Personally I'd like to see the fight voided and rematch ordered for 6 months time. Maybe Khan could have another fight in the meantime if he wants to stay busy.
I think the cut meant the result was unsatisfactory for both parties. Barrera can rightly claim referee neglect in relation to fighter safety and Khan's excellent performance has been almost completely overlooked.
Let them fight again and give Barrera the chance to prove that the cut is what beat him, and let Khan prove he was too fast, too big and too strong for Barrera at this stage in his career.

The bottom line is Barrera and his corner kept going beyond the 4th - even though they knew it was a helpless task to stem the flow of the blood.
No point moaning now.
I remember Don King trying to get Tyson's KO overruled just over 19 years ago....
OK this one holds much more validity than that.
Khan should offer MAB a rematch in June - best way to resolve.
And yes let us in for free this time Don !
Don't bully fat kids - they've got enough on their plate
The difference between the guy sitting on the curb with the gash in his head, and the fighter in the Ring,is,..The Guy on the curb biggest risk is maybe A fly might buzz around the cut,...The fighter on the other hand is constantly being punched in the head and face,....
British officials dropped the ball on this one, plain and simple, the ringside doctors, the commission, and the Ref wear many hat`s,but there No.1 job is to protect the SAFETY of the fighter`s,...How could any reputable Doctor look at A head wound that was Gushing blood like that covering the Fighter`s eye,and say,....Yeah,..it`s alright, let him continue. Those officials are there to protect the Fighter`s against their own bravery,...Are we going to hate on Barrera for not quitting?

I'm sure if Barrera or Morales or either of the Marquez brothers would of won that way, they wouldn't even take the victory. They themselves would change it to a NC and aggressively look for a rematch. It's obvious Con ain't cut from the same cloth.

I think DK should arrange a rematch asap.

June will be too soon for it to heal and to train.
I can't believe the stupid statement that it's Barrera's fault because he didn't quit.
for the 100th time it is not up to Barrera to quit! (see my previous example from the Lightweight Prizefighter) & since when is quitting standard practice for a boxer, for a mexican, for Barrera?
This reminds me of the time King tried to get Buster Douglas's win over Tyson overturned on account of Douglas receiving a long count before he came back and KO'd Tyson.
God what a stand up guy Don is.
Crusader for justice right there.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

Bloody hell!
Excellent news. At the very least Barrera deserves an immediate rematch.

I don't think anyone can dispute the fact that the cut was awful and spoiled a decent little matchup. Khan got the win, but he didn't really beat anyone. I only saw one fighter wobbled after all.
If the commisions have any sense of decency we will see a rematch ordered. The loss is annoying, as I don't think it was just, but I could tolerate that just as long as the opportunity to make amends was granted to Barrera and sooner rather than later. A rematch within 6 months would suffice.
