Liquor is highly regulated here in Canada. You can't buy booze anywhere but liquor stores. Here, until a few years ago when they decided to allow private liquor stores after a big debate, all liquor stores were government owner and run. Taxes on booze are ridiculous too. It costs over $10 for a 6-pack of decent beer here. The stuff I drink, which is from a local brewery, costs $12 per 6-pack.
I dont drink much but I think its dearer here for beer mate.
Our dollars are usually on par.

If you buy a slab its around 38 to 48 bucks. If you buy a six pack its around $16 plus depending on the brand.

Think they tried to get it out of reach of the kids.
Bulshit; they just earn more tax from it is all.
Wine is cheap here, shit but drinkable 4 to 7 mid range good from 10 to 19, great drops 25 to 50, art in a bottle 70 to 500.

RegualAR Spirits like JW red label and black douglas, local and os rums etc can be had on special; buy two 750 ml for $57.

But mixed spirits in six packs 25 to 30 bucks .
4 packs 16. Burboun is the dearest.
