Cotto's only loss was against a pressure fighter so maybe that style is his weakness. I'd pick Miguel but Hatton would have a decent chance if he can take Cotto's shots fairly well. If Ricky was as inspired as the KT fight then he'd give it a good shot.

It would be a cracking matchup and I wouldn't rule Hatton out at all. 147 obviously favours Cotto, but I think Hatton has a style that could cause Cotto fits. Cotto would be forced to work hard for 3 minutes a round and would have Hatton mauling at him in close. Cotto has a lot of great skills but I think his weakness is stamina and punch output, he can be lazy and gets tired. He can be outworked. Of course, Cotto might stop Hatton, but I think Hatton has a decent shot of stopping Cotto too.

I like the clash of styles a lot.

I think Hatton will win against Pacman but I don't think he'd beat Cotto .
Cotto at 140 was not the fighter he is at 147 , at 140 Cotto was easily shaken by solid punchers and Hatton would definately have won handsomely in my opinion but at 147 Cotto is refreshed and stronger .
Cotto is a good,strong,well rounded Welterweight who in my eyes is still unbeaten .

At a catchweight of 143, it would be fairly even as Cotto doesn't make 147 with ease. Also as this would be assuming Hatton beat Pac, he would be the man who could call the shots. I'd still favour Cotto to win just, but at catchweight it would be more even.

No doubt though Hatton would go after a rematch with Mayweather, where he would be outboxed and out thought for another defeat. At least he might make it to the end this time

It would be absolutely pathetic IMO and I would hope that pundits and fans would heap scathing criticism on the fight for that reason. Why not fight at 147 and only let Cotto throw with his left hand or something like that, he'd be just as handicapped as he would be fighting at 140.

You say Hatton should fight at 147 and Cotto should'nt go to 140.Hatton isnt big enough for 147 so Cotto would be beating up a Light welter would'nt he,Cotto is to big for lightwelter,simple if it happens it should be on a level playing ground do it at a catch weight 143/144.

My sentiments exactly. A shame that there isn't a weight where it would be competitive, since Ricky has shown he does not belong in the same ring with Cotto at 147... but in boxing 7 pounds is a world of difference.
