i'm no Cotto nuthugger, but he beat Malignaggi plenty convincingly and i'd dare say he beat him up a hell of a lot worse than Hatton did, i mean look at his face after both fights and it speaks for itself, second of all Malignaggi is a good decent fighter and should be counted as a good win on both fighter's records, but Hatton did NOT knock him out, the fight was stopped, but Hatton did NOT knock him out, corner stoppage doesn't equal KO, and on that note, look at both fighters records, who has the bigger names?
Cotto:
Mosley (proved against Margarito he's nowhere close to finished)
Margarito (Plaster)
Judah (aside from Tszyu, worst beating put on him)
Malignaggi (was undefeated, and left with a broken cheek)
Torres (went on to become WBO jrwelter champ beating Arnaoutis and KO'ing Holt)
Corley (seasoned veteran who aside from what he made out and a bad stoppage, wanted to quit that fight)
Quintana (was undefeated with a win over Julio, and then went on to win the WBO welterweight title with a good win over Paul Williams)
Bailey (is still a big player in the 140 division)
plus other big wins that but i wouldn't count them as big names
Hatton:
Phillips (good win, but Phillips past his days)
Tackie (Alfonso Gomez has a win over him)
Tszyu (biggest win hands down)
Collazo (should of been Hattons first loss)
Mayweather Jr (started well, than got dominated)
Urango (gave Hatton fits, but he regained control for a good win)
Castillo (old, and shot, the Lujan loss just verified it)
Lazcano (an old lightweight, and give him fits)
Malignaggi (a calmer Hatton won the fight pretty easily)
