WBO title counts buddy, if not well you can cut out a bunch of great champions titles, such as two of Barrera's reigns, now 2 of Miguel Cotto's world titles, etc

I do. I don't consider beating Michael Jennings for a vacant title enough to be called champion.

well Cotto's first championship was also the WBO title at 140, and if you didn't consider him a champion there well you're pretty far off, also using your logic of the WBO title having no credibility Paul Williams should still not be considered a champion, much less a 3 time world champion in 2 divisions

also just throwing this out there i rank Montiel higher than Darchinyan like many do, and the only title Montiel had in that weight class was the WBO, if any world titles should be considered jokes it should be the WBA and IBF

VD is correct. Unless it is for a direct re-match, you should really have to win a fight before fighting for the championship again, Cotto should never have been in a position to fight Jennings. Jennings should be made Champion!

The whole thing is a farce, read the WBA thread etc, and it is really pissing me off that Khan is fighting for a title after never really fighting in the weight, bar one fight against some donkey 3 years ago. How can Khan be fightig for a title when he has never beaten anyone in the top 10 in lightweight or light-welterweight?
