I don't recall any of Manny's recent opponents having the speed of foot that Ricky has. I really see Hattons ability to get into range, and ready to unload his own shots with quick hands as being a crucial element in this fight. A lot of movement, more jabbing and speed of foot carrying him in close to unload hard, and force Manny in close.
Trust me, it will be easy for PAC to nullify Hatton forward movement since PAC has the superior hand and foot speed... The worst thing in Hatton's movement is the part when he leaps or lunge in... This is the part he's most vulnerable to the left hook as what PBF and Lazcano has demonstrated in their respective fight against Hatton... If these righthanders can do that damage (wobble/KO) on Hatton then how much more of the southpaw PAC...

I will not give my trust to the Minister of Pacman propaganda!

The leaping hook is something that has been awkward to see from Hatton. But with talk from Hatton about the importance of a good stiff jab, then hopefully we will see less of that leaping in from a distance leaving himself wide open to be countered. Hatton can really box well when he puts his mind to it. We won't be seeing the same Hatton that fought Mayweather, and we won't see anything entirely new either. I think its really about getting back to basics, what Hatton did before Kostya...head movement, jabs, combinations, lots of movement. Hatton IS the bigger man, if he can apply the fundamentals well then the opportunities to land on Manny WILL be there. Manny is not unhittable as Marquez, Barrera and Morales all showed. With Hatton looking to be the aggressor Pac might will eat leather and hard. We know Ricky can take big punches, we don't know that about Manny at the higher weights.

Manny isn't a big puncher anyway, he shocks opponents with speed more than anything. Diaz went down from accumulation, Oscar just decided to give up. Marquez and Barrera both went 12 with Manny without too much stress. I'm sure Hatton can do the same!

I think we're finished discussing with these things... As someone pointed out, the jab won't work with Hatton as he has ONLY 20" of arm length compared to PAC's 25" of arm length...

Movements?? PAC has superior speed than Hatton thus a superior movement... Granting PAC and Hatton has the same speed, how can you catch someone with the same speed as yours?? You can't... and how much more if that someone has more speed than you?? You never will...

PAC will be PAC as ever and he will shock Hatton with his superior speed, his thousands of slashing and stinging punches coupled with moderate pop...

    The end is near...

Pac has the slight reach advantage in this, but as I say that can easily be negated. I keep stressing that Hattons footwork is very good, and along with head movement Hatton will be on Manny before he can blink. Hatton will find leverage for his jab from the good footwork. Didn't Malignaggi supposedly have a very good jab and a reach advantage. It didn't work for him at all.

It's all well and good saying "so, and so has longer arms therefore his jab will be better than the guy with shorter arms". It doesn't always work like that. Other attributes can take away the advantage of reach.

Yeah other attributes can take away the reach advantage IF Hatton got superiority in that attributes... BUT there's almost none...

A lot of those categories are flawed and are determined by you. So that is not credible information.

Hatton fights coming forward with the type of intensity Manny hasn't dealt with before. It has been commented that Pac doesn't fight so well on the back foot and his punching effectiveness is taken away. Reach won't matter in a situation like that. You don't seem able to argue the tangents, you just keep giving me figures and lists, some of which aren't even credible.

Lol. Hatton is nowhere near the great Mexico trio's boxing skills and he's terrible against southpaw too (Collazo). Did you see how he was eating Paulie's jabs? Now imagine those left hands coming from Pac in full force.

Again you are underestimating Hatton and putting him down. Of course the guy has skills, he's only ever lost to the best fighter in the world! Go and watch Hatton's fights prior to the Kostya fight. He boxed really well at times, and we've seen glimpses of it since, but he has come to rely on brute force more often than not. Hatton realises that, whence the changes in his camp. Hatton is very successful mauling his opponents into submission, but you can't just do that all the time.

Hatton might be a cruder fighter than the Mexican trio, but he is a much bigger fighter and comes forward hard. Pac won't like that kind of pressure.

You bring up Hattons issue with southpaws. He has had more problems with southpaws than orthodox fighters, but he has still managed to win each time. Hatton right now is working on getting everything right, his camps have been getting better and better in the states and he seems to be getting in some decent hard sparring whence the nicks under his eyes. Still a few more weeks to hone things.

Paulie landed some jabs, but Paulie is regarded as a very good user of the jab. It's his main punch really, you'd be surprised if he wasn't landing any. Jabs do land on fighters on occasion, you know...

Those are your opinions and I have to respect them. I'm not taking anything away from Hatton. He's a tremendous fighter but he will be facing a very unique and one the most violent fighters in the world. I was just pointing out Hatton flaws.

How's you confident level on this fight btw? From scale 1 to 10 heart and mind(10 is the highest).

In my heart, 8 for Pac.

My mind, also 8 for Pac.

Yes, they are just opinions. It's all just debate at the end of the day. Likewise, I take nothing away from Manny in trying to make my points. I am well aware that he is an excellent fighter with a proven track record.

My confidence is something that changes day to day. I saw a clip of Hatton the other day and he seemed to be full of sniffles and a cold. On that day my hopes dipped somewhat because I worried he was getting his customary chest infection. But I saw another interview yesterday and he seemed back in tip top condition and full of good talk.

So having said that in terms of my mind I would say a 7. 7 is a decent score but I have certain doubts. Hatton at his absolute pinacle should be getting Manny out of there. But there are a few doubts, Mayweather stopped him, Lazcano hurt him and Paulie can't punch. Hatton's unstoppable chin has been wavering a little.

In terms of heart the same. I am hopeful and feel that if Hatton is as good as he can be, then Manny will be having fits. But again I have a few niggling doubts.

It's a 50-50 fight. Forget the betting odds and the same nutty writers that predicted Lacy would beat Calzaghe. This will be a battle. And I'm not ruling either side out. But I know who I really want to win.

Here's one creative imagination from one boxing site on how the fight will play out... Enjoy...

    ROUND 1

Hatton comes out fast, leaping in with a left hook upstairs that's blocked by Pacquiao. The tanacious Hatton pushes Pacquiao back to the ropes. Head down, he bangs a 1-2 to the body. Pacquiao fires back a vicious four-punch combo that momentarily staggers Hatton. Another 1-2 lands for Pacquiao. Hatton holds on. The ref separates them. Nice left hand lands for Hatton, but Pacquiao fires back with a 1-2 upstairs. Hatton digs a right hand to the body and lands two hard left hooks upstairs. Pacquiao grins and bangs his gloves as if to say he was unfazed by the punches. Both men clinch. Pacquiao dances away on his toes and fires his jab. Hatton presses forward. Left hand lands for Pacquiao. Hatton misses with a left hook to the body. Pacquiao lands a 1-2. Hatton still stalking as Pacquiao circles the ring. They trade jabs. Left hook to the body lands for Hatton. Pacquiao lands a left. Another. Hatton looks unfazed and continues to press forward. Woooooo...quick four-punch combo lands for Pacquiao and Hatton is cut. The author here is a little lenient to hatton. That's too many body shot for hatton to land. I just don't see hatton being effective with the body shots. He'll be to open in the face if he try that.

I think Pac will dominate every rd. I agree with the cuts. I think it will be longer than 3. I stick with my original Rd 5 Prediction. I Predicted these way before Roach predicted rd 3. Pac will be generous to make this at least 5 rds of entertainment.
