I think you forgot the real king at 122, Celestino "THE TOWERING INFERNO" Caballero... He's the current 122 WBA and IBF champion and he will give anyone at 122 a very difficult fight...

JuanMa is young and being young also means inexperience and raw... Peñalosa is old and it also means very experienced and a master boxer...
    .
Penalosa has a lot of experience, that's about it (that's a good thing, no question, and sufficient). Juanma has so many skills, but since he ko's everybody, the public hasn't seen them much. Juanma has power in both hands, great defense, and great everything. He simply has too much going for him to lose at any distance. And he is clearly a very motivated fighter who wants the big fights and proud of his heritage in terms of the Rican greats who came before him. Lopez will outclast Penalosa, whether in one round or twelve. Watch.

My confident level for Gerry winning the fight went from 3, and now 7. I just finished watching Lopez-DeLeon, Lopez-Medina, Penalosa-Gonzalez, and Penalosa-Vorapin. I came to conclusion that it will be a long night for Juanma. Difinitely he's a tailor made for Gerry. I think he's gonna take Juanma too school and box him beatifully and knock him out in 10th or 11th round!
Did you noticed JuanMa was so tense speaking in the podium? (JuanMa playing with his thumbs/fingers). Anyone know if JuanMa has some stage fright?? (Or is he starting to feel the pressure from Peñalosa?)

Juanma has something to worry about that's for sure. The pressure is on him coz he's the champion.

Default Yahooo...Gerry to have ROACH at his corner in Puerto Rico fight

Peñalosa to have Roach at his corner in Puerto Rico title fight
    04/23/2009 | 09:32 PM
MANILA, Philippines – After Manny Pacquiao, it’s Freddie Roach’s turn to be a no-show at the Wild Card gym in the coming days.

The world’s best trainer leaves for Puerto Rico Thursday night to be at the corner of Filipino Gerry Peñalosa as he takes on unbeaten Juan Manuel Lopez in a 12-round bout pitting two World Boxing Organization (WBO) champions at the Coliseo Ruben Rodriguez in Bayamon on Saturday (Sunday in Manila).

Roach will still oversee the six-round sparring schedule of Manny Pacquiao in the afternoon before he departs for the six-hour flight to the Northeastern Caribbean country.
He’ll be away for at least three days as Roach returns in Los Angeles Sunday evening.

Michael Moorer, conditioning coach Alex Ariza and second assistant Buboy Fernandez are expected to take care of Pacquiao’s training while Roach is away.

Roach already missed the press conference of the Peñalosa-Lopez fight held Wednesday in Puerto Rico.

He said Peñalosa, the reigning WBO bantamweight champion has his work perfectly cut out for him.

“We already have our plan for what is going to be a great fight. We know Lopez is a tough guy who starts strong and fast," said the three-time Trainer of the Year of the Puerto Rican native, unbeaten in 24 fights (22 KOs) and current WBO super-flyweight title holder.

“He doesn’t have a lot of weaknesses but we have seen several things and we will try to work on those during the fight," he said.

“Lopez is going to come forward and be aggressive, so Gerry will have to use his experience. I have no doubt that as the rounds go on, Lopez will start to slow down and then we will get him."

Peñalosa said, “I know that if I win this fight, a lot of people will be surprised. But it makes no difference to me. I’m coming to win and that’s all I’m thinking about."

A former World Boxing Council (WBC) flyweight champion, the 36-year old Peñalosa, 11 years older than Lopez, sports a 54-6 record with 36 KOs.

He trained for more than a month at the Wild Card gym before heading to Puerto Rico at the start of the month. – GMANews.TV

When Gerry lost to Ponce de Leon,Roach was busy with ODLH in PUERTO RICO.This time Freddie has to find time to be with gerry in his fight vs. LOPES. For my own personal reasons,i am now inclined to believe PENALOSA WILL WIN IN PUERTO RICO.

Great news for Gerry. I think the longer the fight goes, the better chance for Gerry of winning the fight.

This video interview of mine is my personal reason why i think Gerry has a good chance of winning in Puerto Rico.List en intently ,Freddie was talking about why Gerry lost to PONCE DE LEON.With Roach in his corner it will be a different story i guess.

Of course he's not a great yet. He is in the early statges of his career. But he is establishing his legacy, and one step was his destruction of de Leon (no one had ever done that to de Leon, not even Penalosa). Next step is beating Penalosa. After that, Juanma should be put in the ring with all the best at that weight. He can handle them, trust me.

The following are the officials for the Gerry-JuanMa fight:

"The referee for the fight will be José H. Rivera of Puerto Rico, and the judges will be William Lurch of Illinois, Michael Pernack of Florida and Nelson Vázquez of Puerto Rico."

The referee from Puerto Rico and one judge from Puerto Rico... hmmnnn...

Lets see my friend Pacstraight , the only thing that i don't really like is , What Freddie Roach commented " We have our plan , but Juanma doesn't have a lot of weakness , but we have seen several things and we will TRY to work on those during the fight ".........That word of TRY , to me have the feeling of uncertainty.............
