In an all-action brawl between two undefeated featherweights, Belfast-native Martin Lindsay (14-0, 6 KOs) scored the biggest win of his career by stopping the reigning British champion Paul Appleby (14-1, 9 KOs) in the sixth round. Lindsay looked strong with his hard and precision punching in the first two stanzas. Appleby cam back strong in the third rocking slightly fading local hero on several occasions. Round four was as brutal as they are with Lindsay being just a bit more active in the back-and-forth two-way massacre. Round five was for the champion. In round six, Martin Lindsay increased his tempo and started to land his punches at will. After the series of left and right hooks Appleby was pinned to the ropes, barely made it to the center of the ring only to be brutalized once again with the monsterous right hand of Lindsay prompting referee to stop the contest at 2:36 of the round six. Appleby is still to be decked in his career though
