Wow...
Appleby was favorite Am I correct?
From fightnews...
In an all-action brawl between two undefeated featherweights, Belfast-native Martin Lindsay (14-0, 6 KOs) scored the biggest win of his career by stopping the reigning British champion Paul Appleby (14-1, 9 KOs) in the sixth round. Lindsay looked strong with his hard and precision punching in the first two stanzas. Appleby cam back strong in the third rocking slightly fading local hero on several occasions. Round four was as brutal as they are with Lindsay being just a bit more active in the back-and-forth two-way massacre. Round five was for the champion. In round six, Martin Lindsay increased his tempo and started to land his punches at will. After the series of left and right hooks Appleby was pinned to the ropes, barely made it to the center of the ring only to be brutalized once again with the monsterous right hand of Lindsay prompting referee to stop the contest at 2:36 of the round six. Appleby is still to be decked in his career though
Great scrap, very entertaining. But imo to many good prospects from the uk just want to get invloved in a fight to much rather than a boxing match. I think Lindesy has some great skills but fighting like that will get him nowhere, Appleby will come again and will be involved in some more domestic scraps.
it dont surprise me to be honest, never really rated appelby
Happy for Martin, obviously means a lot to him.

Defo was a great fight. All the entertainment needed in the run up to froch. I just can't help thinking that guys like that are always gonna be domestic bust-ups. Can't see lindsey, or appleby for that matter, gettin anywhere near Luevano, Conception or Juarez in the future and no where near John.... But i guess who knows. Lindsey is promoted by booth/hayemaker, they are gettin plenty of hype at the mo so who knows what opportunity lindsey could get.
Very good fight, both European class at least.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
I'm surprised by Appleby I really thought the stength in this one was him but an inspired Lindsay showed some classy moves , he handled the occasion better he showed focus and poise whereas appleby seemed to think he could end it early .
Good learning fight for both , really not sold on Appleby but I thought he'd be stronger , the plaudits go to a magnificent Martin Lindsay a tremendously classy young man with a bright future.
