He didnt really come back though smash did he, all that happened is what I said and what nearly everyone else thought as well, is that Taylor just isnt strong enough to be in this weight.

Froch just carried on fighting wide open and Taylor wore down.

Against a true supermiddle like Kessler or Andrade Carl would come unstuck, if a faded middle who weighed in light can deck Carl heavily and make him look petrified while he was on his ass then a true supermiddle puncher would either spark him or make him fight very cautious.

Everyone said this would happen, Taylor would make Carl look silly then just wear down because of the strength difference.

I dont usually agree with Ross to much, but thats the true reality... I thought Froch was lucky last nite and all of you know it.

Anyone who said they predicted Froch down by 4 rounds going into the 12th, to TKO taylor with 14 seconds left is a lieing mofo. That kind of comeback at that level is a once every 2 year occurance

Its boxing and its part of the game and Froch won fair and square with determination and heart...

It was a typical Froch performance in that he didn't make things easy for himself and did start very slow. Taylor looked very good early on and had an impressive jab, counters and hand speed.
The longer the fight went on the closer Carl got to Taylor and the pressure resulted in that superb 12th round stoppage.

Credit to the referee Ortega - the timing of the stoppage was perfect - Taylor had nothing left.

Fantastic achievement by Carl to goto the US in his 1st defence and defeat a truly World class opponent - a man who defeated Bernard Hopkins twice.

Hopefully Carl has a homecoming fight next in Nottingham and then can get a fight with Lucian Bute.

i had froch down 1 round going into last round so even if he didnt stop taylor it would of been a draw in my book

I had time to read some replies but I began to wonder how Taylor even got this far in boxing with his so called stamina problem. He's done well and it's not that he failed for the lack of heart. He beat Hopkins twice over twelve rounds and his last three losses were due to poor preparation on top of stamina troubles. He was a champ and did the best he could considering his problems. Froch on the other hand is one tough son of a bitch but when is he going to learn how to box. He lunged so many times that I thought they were filming another Superman sequel. His left hand was low enough to shake hands with a roach. He won and Taylor is a big question mark. Both men need teachers instead of trainers, especially Froch but his so called granite chin was chipped a bit but he did outlast Taylor. Until someone has proof to the contrary he is somewhat of a hard man, so far.

Not only does Taylor fade in fights, he has been sparked recently and dropped by lacy and his stamina problem was highlighted by fighting someone who is naturally stronger.

Thats why against Hopkins and Wright and such, he still managed to win because he was fighting on level strength terms.

When Frochs team mans up and fights a genuine world class supermiddle, he gets flattened.

Taylor cant be considered a top supermiddle because hes only had one fight at supermiddle against someone else whos no longer world class and before that he had 2 straight losses, one a KO.

Thats the other thing, Pavlik did a much more impressive job

What I like to say is Jermain is one of the elite fighter's for the first six rounds. Then he just get's winded and stops throwing and start's backing up. People say Taylor don't have power they are full of shit. As he did knock Froch down,and Pavlik something that people forget when Hopkins dismantled Pavlik. Taylor to me now is somewhat of a tragic story. Has all of the tools to do a number on anyone but lacks the stamina to keep doing it. The thing is he just goes balls to the wall so early. As I watched that fight I kept thinking of Larry Holmes for soem reason. Then in it dawn's on me. Taylor just kept trying to bomb Froch out with counter right hands but he never really took his time and set up the right hand with his always solid jab. I couldn't help but think of Holmes because Taylor just reminds me of him if only he would box with his jab and look to throw the right hand later. I honestly thought if Taylor stuck with his jab the entire night it would have been a cake walk for him. All credit to Froch though he did show why he is the champ. Amazing.
