Marquez Does Have A Few Things In His Favor

First, I want to make it clear. I think Mayweather is too big for him and I think he sees JMM as a fight to make him look good in his return. I think Floyd will win, most likely by TKO, but don't be surprised if Marquez manages to pull out a hard-fought decision. Marquez has been active against top fighters who throw a lot of punches. He can keep a fast pace, even though he is getting up there in ring years. Im not so sure if Mayweather fight at a fast anymore. Also, JMM isnt going to be shocked by Mayweathers speed at 140. He fought faster fighters than Floyd and can deal with his speed. I dont think that will be an issue. One thing is for sure. Marquez can not be intimidated and he is confident, especially because he coming off some very big wins and a great performance against arguably the best fighter in the world. Seeing Pac have this much sucess at the higher weights can only help fuel his belief that he can beat a bigger opponent. Again, I see Mayweather winning, but an different outcome would not entirely surprise me either.

Sorry who is faster than Floyd that he has foughten? Pacquiao is fast, but Mayweather is a little faster because he has the same handspeed, but he isn't out of position after he throws something, nor are there openings which IMO means he is taking speed off to maintain perfect coordination.

I posted a topic more or less about these issues concerning the PBF and JMM fight, strangely, it get deleted, and I say strangely because it didn't contain anything scornful or vindicative. The thing that worries me about this fight is that I fear that the attraction of a potential PBF-PAcman will lure the judges to favor PBF for the rounds that might be tight, which would totally be unfair for a guy who's been overlooked and avoided as often as possible. Now, something that I would love to know (as I stated before in the deleted thread): What kind of ring size will they use and what kind of gloves? Winning gloves that will neutralize a part of JMM's strenght advantage to the profit of Floyd? An overzize ring that will allow PbF to dance anf to give as space as possible to avoid the fight or something more reasonable? Anybody has infos about these crucial details?

It's not a tune-up, PAC is only 3 to 1 favorite (started at 2 to 1) while PBF is a 4 to 1 favorite over JMM...

I guess if anybody can step right back into form after over 1.5 years since their last fight, it will be PBF. Still historically, ring rust effects boxers who use their reflexes and skill, much more than power punchers. Then again, PBF enjoys the size advantage and JMM starts slow, so maybe that balances out in PBF's favor. Still, I think it's a possibility that PBF will try to do things that he used to be able to do, only to be slightly off. At this level, that's all it will take for JMM to capitalize.

I don't think JMM can outsmart, overpower, or outbox PBF... They're similar in style that mainly focuses on counterpunching... PBF is a faster, bigger and better version of JMM...

Other than both liking to counter punch how are they similar? I see them as totally different fighters. JMM is so very conventional, yet at an elite level, verses PBF's slick and improvisational, although still technically sound, style.

How do you see JMM having the strength advantage?

I think if this fight was at 145 or higher and PBF hadn't had such a long lay off, PBF would just about be a complete no brainer to win. But that's not the case. I still favor him, but those factors in JMM's favor have to be taken into account.

Floyd had fast hands no question. But, look at his speed at around the weight this fight will take place and look at the speed of some of Marquez opponents in the last couple years at the weight he has fought at in the not so long ago past. Pacman at 125, Pac at 130, Chris John at 125 all at least a fast as Floyd at 140-145 based on his recent performances. Even an old Casa had comparable speed to the Floyd of today. I know many people are gonna jump on me for saying this, but Floyd is nowhere near as fast as he once was, primarily because of the weight. And of course, p4p Floyd is much faster than John but thats not relevant. Floyd is fast for his weight. Pac is one of the only fighters ive seen maintain speed as he went up. But, this isnt about him so ill get back to the point. JMM can handle his speed. Its his power, size, and style that I worry about.
