Yeah he is smaller, much leaner with less bulk then Cotto, that's pretty easy to see. He fights at 147 because he wins at 147 and who wouldn't want to fight at a weight that they practically walk around at and still be effective. If anything, that would work to Floyd's detriment so it definitely shouldn't be used against him. Either way, that's a personal choice, he makes it work for him.

his smaller but he was able to fight at 154, cotto has never fought above 147. He is lean but lean muscle dont mean light muscles. Bulk may mean more body fat. Put the same body fat on floyd his naturally bigger, he stays lean like bhop but doesnt mean his smaller then them. See how bhop made it look easy to go up above middleweight but still look lean. Lean dont mean your smaller, it don't mean your lighter.

He weighed 150 for the De La Hoya fight and didn't weigh much more then that on fight night. When Cotto fought Malignaggi at 140 lbs he weighed 160 pounds on the night of the fight, when he fought Corley he was 158 on the morning of the fight. That was at 140 for Cotto. Just because he hasn't fought north of welterweight doesn't mean he doesn't have the naturally bigger frame. That's why Floyd was able to turn pro at 129 while slowly adding weight while Cotto jumped between 140 and 147 before settling in at 140 to start his career.

That doesn't mean much because Floyd doesn't use his physical strength like a Cotto or Hatton does. Manny doesn't either but his power carries. Mayweather doesn't but it's his boxing smarts and defense that carry.

PBF can fight at higher weights because of his slick defence, tbh I don't think it matters what weight the fights at because its not like Floyd's gonna come out and bull for the little guy, people are looking to much into a few lbs, while it would matter against fighters that use there weight alot, against Floyd it doesnt matter what weight its at, if JMM has his number he'll win at any weight...

Yeah, people are looking too much at weights in this fight. Yes, PBF will finally weigh more than his opponent but PBF doesn't use size. PBF hasn't cut weight since he moved to 147 so he is in no way a welterweight sized guy. He is really at best an average 140 pounder. JMM is an average sized 135 pounder. But like one guy said PBF fights at 147 because he doesn't use his size to win fights anyway and he is able to fight at this weight with success without having to cut. And it actually looks like this fight will be at a catchweight of 144 not 147. And I do agree with you that they should just have had it at 140 but PBF doesn't want to cut weight. And as we speak he is already weighing less than 147. A real sized welterweight doesn't reach even 150 until the week of the fight. Most welterweights start in the 160s. Hatton walks around near 170 and boxes at 140. Cotto walks around in the 170s. PBF took a year and a half layoff and didn't even top 152 during that time. The guy is naturally slender. And for the DLH fight PBF tried to get the fight at 147 but DLH's team said "No way, its 154 or no fight." And being that PBF stood to make 25 million for that fight I guess he had no choice but to fight at 154. DLH had the better drawing power. No way PBF ever was a 154 pounder. He couldn't even make it that weight while trying to bulk up. He is a slender lean guy who relies on athleticism not size.
