Happy Memorial Day Weekend

Was planning a small trip to Baja but honestly backed out just at the last minute.

Gonna go to the movies tonight, a wedding tomorrow and depending on the weather to the beach on Sun.

Yeah days like Memorial Day and Independence Day are too important to allow politics to get the spotlight. Sure I disagree with a ton of people on here about politics and sure I didn't vote for Obama but Memorial Day is a day where everyone comes together as one America and thanks our Armed Forces past and present, because they are the people who make it possible for us to have such a great nation.

The holiday we have on NOvember is thanksgiving day.

Don't know what your plans are tomorrow Stateside but alot of activity locally.Going down to D-day museum for a bit.....Ive been twice,and both time its the ww II vets speaking that take precedence over any & all displays.Very humbling.Few west bank parades honoring La. armed service members.

Talked to my father tonight.Like to call him last few years on this day as hes been opening up now a days,getting older.Almost like he needs an ear and will just start talking about his experiences out of the blue,at the oddest of times.I dont know if anyone has seen that old series "Letters home".I watched it back in high school when it came on HBO originally.Pretty hard view in spots frankly.We need to remember them all people....seems every generation dims on the History just a bit no matter the era or conflict.Just running on,a few segments here.

Sounds interesting. Working as a engineer for Chysler years ago, my dad knew a guy from work before that operated a landing craft for the beachhead invasion just like in Saving Private Ryan. The scary thing is that those guys had to make multiple trips back and forth ferrying troops, a lot of those drivers didn't survive. He seen a lot of death during those days, but turned out alright from what I was told. I have nothing but the utmost respect for the guys that put their ass and life on the line time, time and again.
