It was once he hit welterweight that he stopped throwing combos as much.
I think he throws every punch well, but the problem is he doesn't use combinations very often or change it up a lot. He throws every punch in the book, but it seems to always be in the same sequence and usually he doesn't put all his speed or power into punches so that he can still avoid counter punches.

I think he's careful not to get connected in an exchange specially in the early stages of the fight or if his opponent still has some power left. He's seen throwing combinations and flurries once his opponente is running out of gas or injured. Also, he seems to calculate his punches well and not waste energy hitting a guy's defense or missing. I can imagine his percentage of connected punches per round can be high.
There is no doubt he will land a lot on MArquez, but my question is will MArquez give him a chance to get off, I think if Marquez can handle his power, everytime Mayweather throws something Marquez will force him to cover up unless MAyweather decides to really commit to his punches.
