the main domestic cup,

you have the premier league(the top league)
FA cup(cup comp for all English clubs)
League cup( same as above but no one gives a shit about it)

Champions League(comp for all the top European teams)
Uefa cup(comp for Euro clubs who finish 5/6(varys in different countrys) in there domestic league)

So the FA Cup is the championship for the 2nd-tier domestic English league? Or does it include the teams from the Premier League as well, minus the ones competing in the Champions League (the final of which Barcelona beat Man U. yesterday, right?)?

It includes teams from the Premier league, championship and even lower leagues I think

The English League has 4 divisions with 92 Teams.

All 92 teams compete in The FA Cup which is completely independant to the League competitions or The European Champions League.

On top of the 92 league teams, all non league (Amateur teams) have the chance to qualify to play in the FA Cup

There are only really 2 cups worth winning in english football, the premier league which is played between 20 different teams who all play eachother home and away and the FA cup which is a knockout competition.

FA cup has traditions that date over a hundred years back and is known for being the most exciting knockout competition because although the big boys dont enter till around january time the tournament actually starts in early october and consists of some 500 odd sides most of which are either semi pro or complete amateur teams.

Cup final day in england is kind of the equivelant of superbowl sunday in the US though over the years what with the rise of the multi billion dollar premier league and the european cup it has slightly lost its grace.

If you ask me though its the one day of the year where you know every football fan in the country will sit back and watch the game

I hope Everton win but i cant see them beating Chelsea to be honest, i think the FA Cup has lost that big of magic if im honest with the amount of Football on Tv and how big the Premiership and Champions League is now, i dont get the buzz watching the Fa Cup i use to years ago maybe thats only me.
