I'd try get a lone of a hard drive off one of your mates, and stick it in yours and see if the problems still there. if it is still there u probably have to sell it cheap to someone looking for parts or pay sony![]()

Yes, best way to know if the the slot and its connection who has the problem not the hard drive. But i heard it is brand new mate!!
Try looking for another PS3 and put your hard drive to it instead.
I wonder if there's a designed anti virus for PS3 to read. I brought mine second hand so i don't know if it's included.

if i put another hard drive in my ps3 apparently it will reformat it , so can't do that with my mates
however i am reliably informed that I can out mine in his (oooerrr !) and it won't cause any problems - however if my disk works in his then its my PS3 thats fucked so will need a new one - but at least I will know.
If it fails then I will get a new hard drive and do what this guy does on youtube

so i bought a 160GB ps3 hard drive off ebay for £40 delivered and just followed that guys instructions
all works fine - and a 160 GB PS3 to boot !
lying arseholes at Sony telling me it wouldnt work.
