Anyone remember the edgbaston test when australia needed 2 runs to win the match and kasprowitz gloved one to the wicket keeper??

Cricket is hardly a working mans sport but even i remember being down the gym the last day of the final test and seeing men, women and children stood around the tv screens biting their nails!!

    that was some fucking series!!

i think thats the thing - though i don't follow it from what I remember that series had 3 really close finishes ?

everyone was saying we will never see anything like that again

so there you go - no point watching it any more

    end of problem

The reason it was so amazing was intensified because it was indeed the australian unbeatables of mcgrath, warne, ponting etc that had lost 1 test series in the last 7-8 years.

Test match cricket is one of those things you either get or you dont get. If you get it its one of the most fascinating sporting challenges around as their are so many different situations within the test match itself to contend with. Cricket is slow, larthargic and definitely at times boring. But a day at the test match with friends is a brilliant day out.

Everyone in the ground is drinking by the time play starts at 11am and by 4pm you can be assured almost half the stadium is boozed up and starting mexican waves and england chants in the sweltering sun while enjoying some good cricket.
