I began when I was 12. Boxing changed me. It made me a different person.

It not only kept me busy and away from bad elements that were already showing up at my doorstep, it taught me about some important things in life. It taught me about hard work and seeing the rewards of it. It taught me about dedication. But most importantly, along with the many things it can offer a youth, it taught me respect. For myself, and for my fellow man. Respect starts with self, and then radiates outward.

Through the tools boxing offers, and a willingness to learn, the grand and greatest reward for me has no doubt been the confidence and respect I have gained. It has simply made me a better person.

Oh, and knowing you can kick most anyone's ass don't hurt either. But the funny thing about that is, once you know it, it is the last thing on your mind. It's a very calming feeling.
