My wife has just called Setanta telling them to cancel our monthly subscription. When my wife told them why we wanted to do this the Setanta representative told her its not season 2009/10 that Setanta are losing half the games but 2010/11 and that if we took out a 12 month contract they would reduce are monthly bill from £10.99 to £8.50.

I told my wife to get back on the phone and tell them we want to cancel cause we are with Tiscali and can get all Setanta Channels for £11.99 on top of our exciting package and we don't have to be locked into a 12 month contract.

Has any one else called Setanta to cancel

No, the only hope for it surviving (and thereby quality boxing on TV) is people not just cancelling at the first possible sign of trouble. The SPL payment thing is not new, even Sky have defaulted on payments in the past. As of present Setanta is still running & I'm not missing Cotto-Clottey or the possible Haye-Klit fight on July 11 or Klitschko-Chagaev on June 20.

lol.....naa but they better start putting some live boxing on soon cause I aint going to be HAPPY..lol

On a serious note we are cancelling Setanta at the end of the month and then adding the full package thru Tiscali.....for an extra £1 you get the whole lot and you can cancel whenever you like....I think its a better option than the deal Setanta offered which was £8.50 just for the one channel and locked into a 12 month contract.....!!!

Apparently they are talking to Sky about getting onto their package -The last thing Sky want is ESPN to buy Setanta.

I've sent them an eMail to cancel as I don't have a Sky subscription anymore, I doubt they'll make it to the next football season.

They will make it to the end of the next football season as the England matches & the 2 of 6 EPL package will carry them through
