I've been thinking about this for a good bit now, I just can't decide on how I think this will play out. I watched Kotelnik vs Maidana at the weekend to try decide what he might bring to the table.

The Brief: Write your fictional Round Ry Round as you see the fight panning out. Try keep it sensible, were just after something different to read. It's just an idea.
Round 1 Khan starts out fast looking to get Kotelnik out of there, everythings landing the jab, right rook, left hook, uppercuts, Kotelnik looks like a deer in the headlights.

    10-9 Khan

Round 2 Again not much different from the 1st round, Kotelnik is too slow, too land a telling blow. Khan beating him too the punch, and anything Kotelnik attempts Khan easily blocks it with his slightly improved high guard defense.

    20-18 Khan

Round 3 Kotelnik starts the round faster attempting to land to the body and he has some success, but he is swamped by Khan's extra speed and workrate. Khan stuns Kotelnik who leaves himself wide open, right at the end of the round.

    30-27 Khan

Round 4 Khan is really getting on top now and Kotelnik is starting to show, the affect's of all the punishment. Khan pot shotting Kotelnik, but in the middle of the round. Kotelnik catchs Khan with a right hook high on Khan's head. And down does Khan he don't seem to hurt but he takes the full 8. Kotelnik begins to have success to the body and hurts Khan, who's face is telling the story of those body shots. Khan comesback with a flurry to the end the round.

    38-37 Kotelnik

Round 5 Khan's corner tell him to not get over confident, work behind the jab and keep those hands up. This round is the most uneventful round of the entire fight. Khan boxing at range using the jab and his movement, and he wins a pretty boring 5th round.

    48-46 Khan

Round 6 Kotelnik's corner tells him he needs to get going, they tell him you can hurt him you just need to put more effort in. Kotelnik follows his corner's instructions and starts the round faster, but he's picked off from long range constantly and he has now developed a cut on his left eye. And its a pretty bad one. Kotelnik has minor success to the body but Khan is just too fast.

    58-55

Round 7 Khan starts the round out faster he sense's Kotelnik is on the verge of going, and smells the victory with the blood streaming down Kotelnik's face. Khan stuns Kotelnik and Kotelnik is now on the ropes taking punishment about 9 unanswered punches land and the ref stops the fight, the commentator's believe it was a bit premature and so do the viewers. But still Khan wins a 7th round TKO.

All 3 judges had it 58-55 going into the 7th round.

Amir Khan states in the interview that Kotelnik is a tough guy, and one of the best fighters at 140. He now says he is ready for the likes of Pacquiao, Marquez, Warren pulls him up a bit sharpish and says he will try and set up a Ricky Hatton vs Amir Khan showdown for later in the year.
