It doesn't make sense why you would take the most important person in the sport out of the picture for a select few. THere are way more Pacquiao fans then people who hate him, and I don't see the point of taking him away from the main thread.

It wasn't a select few and the list of those who hate him were growing every day because the main board was pretty much a Pacquaio board. The board was going haywire, there were no good options, this was the best one. There's nothing to keep people from posting about him in here, I expect this to be a busy board and it doesn't have to be all hero worship or hate.

That isnt the real point mate.
Although the way it was; It was impossible to moderate without throwing all the Phillipino Pump up our own tyres posts into Spam.
Manny is humble unlike many of his fans and also he is a great he doesnt deserve being spammed , even if some of his over zealous fans do.
Manny is only a small percentage of overall Boxing even if he does prove to be the greatest thing ever.
But some of his fans thought he needed to be mentioned and involved in all the other aspects of the sport too; even weights, areas and history eras which dont concern him.
That is unfair to people who come here for the 95% of other things the sport has to offer without Mannys name eternally arising in them as well.
Those are the points; also another major point is that now all the others have a free choice instead of having it ramed down their throats.
A good lifestyle, = free choice 1st.
Why shouldn't his name be mentioned though, Mayweather's was back when he was fighting, as has been Cotto's and MOsley's. My problem is that right now the only huge focus on boxing is based on when and where Mayweather and Pacquiao fight next. They are the starts of the sport. I obviously love other fights, but when it gets down to it, they may be 2 people, but how much of the HBO revenue is garnished because of their fights in comparions to other fights, how many regular-non boxing fans know other guys as well as they know Pacquiao and Mayweather? I am a huge supporter of Pacquiao, and I only come to his defense, and maybe go over the top, when people make stupid arguments about why he isn't as good as he clearly is. People love to hate the #1 guy, and the better they are the more people hate them, and its frustrating to watch. I just don't feel this is fair when english fighters have overhyped Hatton and Calzaghe, Americans with Jones and Mayweather and others, why should Filipino's be able to talk about PAcquiao? I just like staying on one forum, my favorite list goes straight to the general boxing forum, so forgive me if I don't like having to switch forums to talk about the most relevent fighter in the world.
What BigH said. And not only that, but chances are pretty good you aren't going to have someone(s) come in here and make every thread about their fighters of preference. I considered it for a minute, just for shit-n-giggles, then thought, what a waste of damn effort and time that would be.
So here, as a pac fan also, I can enjoy reading pac stuff. Other board, I can keep up to speed with the rest of the boxing world. Wunnerful system if you ask me. I think you hard core fans got it pretty good. Should appreciate the effort and consideration from Saddo put forth for you guys, imho.
That highlight reel was exhilarating from start to finish.![]()
If you hear a voice within you saying that I am not a painter, then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.
