Had Cotto fought with no cut, it would've been much different IMO.
I think seeing Cotto cut is just something we are going to have to deal with. Seems more often than not he is getting cut. I hate bringing up Pac, but he will be slicing and dicing his face all night long with those punches. Cotto won't be able to move out of the way. Margarito was landing easily and Clottey, yes there was the cut but again I won't be surprised when he is cut in future fights.

That being said I give all the respect in the world to Cotto for the fight last night, showed great heart
he was cut by a headbutt, and honestly if Hatton was able to pin Manny on the ropes, and yes, he was able to, Cotto, who's the stronger fighter would badly bang away on him, and IMO stop him

all except jmm had a perfect gameplan for pac, its only when they are in the ring that they realize that its not easy to manhandle pac. hatton bullied him for a while until pac let hatton taste his own medicine. diaz believed that he can handle pacs speed and we all know what he said after the fight.

** i only mentioned pac cause you guys are takking about him

cotto cant break clotteys defense, most of cottos punches landed on clotteys arms. why? and how can you break that guard?

Morales seemed to have the perfect gameplan when he beat Manny, and are you seriously trying to compare Miguel Cotto to David Diaz?

Cotto adapted to Clottey's defense while he was on the ropes and he would loop his hooks around Clottey's gloves and whack him on the side of the head, or he would shoot them straight down the pipe between the gloves, he didn't land everything but he hit Clottey plenty, and about the whacking Clottey's gloves, Cotto already had fractured another fighter's arm by doing the same exact thing, so why not do it on Clottey

back to the Pac thing, Hatton had Manny on the ropes, and Cotto looks like fucking Mayweather when you compare him to Hatton in terms of movement, defense, and overall boxing ability, he uses his jab, doesn't plod foward with his hands up, and he was fighting a guy who would make Manny look like Tiny Tim, so seriously if the fight against Cotto happens, anyone who thinks he's gonna blow him out like he did Hatton, is set for a rude awakening

Hatton is a lot faster than Cotto though, which is why he was able to (very briefly) pin Pac against the ropes. Does Cotto have the foot and hand speed to do the same thing, especially considering the figh will probably be at 143-145 (which is total bullshit IMO)?

agree with you about the catchweight bullshit, but honestly i'd say that Cotto has the faster feet and better footwork, and physically is stronger than both Hatton and Pacquiao, there's no doubt there at all

If you guys do remember. Juan Manuel Marquez have a cut and he don't run on PAC. Remember PAC can destroy anyone face and Juan Manuel Marquez did not run.

Cotto don't need to run. If Cotto didn't run he might won convincingly. But I have Clottey winning this one by micro edge.

Cotto got cut as early as the 3rd round and it was much larger than Marquez's cut MUCH LARGER. To give Cotto credit he was not dropped and wobbled in this fight considering he was cut bigtime.
exactly, and if you rewatch the fight, it started out as 2 cuts then from Clottey banging on it, he ripped the bit of flesh that was seperating it and turned it into a huge gash, the thing was nasty looking, one of the worst cuts this year, i'd go so far to say that it was just as bad or worse than the Barrera gash, maybe not in size, but in how it took away from Cotto's ability to see out of the eye, don't see why Cotto's getting so much flack for moving back, he was boxing on the back foot, and yet would still whack Clottey with those big left hooks like he did in the 10th, it was a good fight, just as good or better than i expected it to be, instead of bitching about the decision (which i believe Cotto deserved the knod) we should be congratulating both for stepping up and taking on one of the most dangerous opponents available, they put it all on the line and should both get props for it, other fighters should take the same example

I couldn't agree with you more!

After the Pacquiao/Marquez II fight happened, this place was nuts. Everytime there's a close fight, someone always claims "robbery." If it's a close fight, how is it a robbery?! Casamayor/Santa Cruz, robbery, Holyfield/Lewis I, robbery, Cotto/Clottey, not a robbery.

People always complain about decisions but we were treated to a great fight and two of the best in the division fighting each other. That doesn't happen often and only a select number of fighters do these things yet when they do people still complain! I dont get it?!

I think Hatton is faster than Cotto too. But Cotto puts his punches together better than Hatton. Also, Hatton charging at you will eventually put your back towards the ropes but you can escape by rolling under. From what I've seen from Cotto is when he gets you to the ropes or the corner, he can keep you there for a while. When he stalks, he cuts the ring off and stops you from escaping until he's done punching.
