I had to rewatch the first round of the fight after posting in the other thread pertaining to this topic..

    and..

    ARE YOU GUYS SERIOUS?

YES, Clottey would have won the round.. comfortably even.. but to say that it should have been 10-9 instead of 10-8 is incorrect.. it's not even a matter of opinion, it's simply incorrect..

It's not like he hurt Cotto, or Cotto was in any danger from punches. Clottey landed some nice shots, but he never hurt him.

A round can be scored 10-8 even if there isn't a knockdown if one fighter has the other guy out on his feet and is pounding him the whole round while the guy is hanging on for his life.

This was not the case in this round. It was like any other round, and if there was no knockdown it would have been scored 10-9 for Clottey. big deal.. he got knocked down, he pays the price.

    It doesn't matter if it's 10-9 or 10-8 round.

It wont make a change to the decision.

But i agree with one judge on 114-113 for Clottey.

Clottey won that fight, he was dominant most of the rounds except on 11 and 12.

Well, speaking for myself, I just pose the question in order to get some opinions.

I've seen some 10-8 rounds without KD or penalty. But have you guys seen a round with a KD that it was scored 10-9 by ring official? Is it technically possible?

Could've been a 10-3 round for clottey with that judging he still would've lost. No fault of cotto's though. Scoreboard baby, clotty should have done more.
