Default Fight Night R3 "Rival" Rant

I just started playing again hoping to knock some of the rust off before Round 4 makes it's debut. I do not have a next-gen system, but a cousin does...

Anyway, it really makes me sick how they call some jackass my "rival" and force me to fight him over and over no matter how badly I whoop his arse.

6 Times I have KO'd this idiot in 4 rounds or less, but he is a "rival" the public demands to see me fight. Bullshit.

He has followed me from lightweight to middleweight and beats the piss out of me at every weigh-in. Anyone else ever had a Fight Night stalker like this?

I always looked forward to it as a sort of comic relief. I'd usually whip his ass in 2 rounds, shelling out the elbows and low blows for extra sauce. I'd also kick his ass in the weigh ins too. It's lot of fun, I get a personal kick out of owning a dude that is supposedly called my "rival".

You know I was just thinking that it would be neat if you could pick your rival in round 4. He could be one of the greats Hagler, Hearns, JCC, etc. or even one of your cabs. Further more it would be fun to customize them so that they can give a challenging fight.

I remember having to fight some clown called Brewster like 5 times despite the fact that I KO'd him in the 1st or 2nd round every time, it was just ridiculous. I like the fact on the new legacy mode you can choose whether you want classic fighters in the game. I used to hate having to fight Sugar Ray Robinson when I hadn't even won a world title & it killed any realism it might have had.

Yeah, that is enough to make a grown man cry.

I liked it when you could move up the rankings list much better than that progress bar they have in R3

I heard the rival system this time is much better. For example, if a fight you have is close, there will be public demand for a rematch so you get challenged by the same fighter again. I can't remember where I read this though.
