You could look at it another way though, how much better than Hatton is/was Barrera? I'd say quite a bit, one in his prime was a borderline elite fighter admittedly better than some gave him credit for, whilst the other is a straight up ATG.
& as for the bit in bold, well we know how Ricky struggled badly with that simple task over 6 minutes in the MGM Grand
Hatton cannot react to being hit repeatedly. He sort of just freezes like a deer stuck in the headlights. I'm 100% sure that will happen against Khan.
Hatton has shown that he cannot execute a gameplan when he's had to deal with superior speed. Collazo, Mayweather and Pac spring to mind. All 3 of them fighters teed of on him and while Khan clearly isn't anywhere near their level he is arguably just as fast if not faster and he can put together some very effective combinations.

I think if Khan beats Kotelnik it'll happen. I'd pick Khan to outbox both of them too but I don't think he'll manage to get through twenty four rounds against two decent fighters without getting tagged at least once. And we all know what happens when he gets hit on the chin.![]()
I'm inclined to agree with VD here (never thought I'd say that) in which if Lazcano can hurt hatton... Khan will do alot more. Lazcano isn't the fastest person in the world and he was able to land at will at times. To me it comes down to this, if Hatton gets some common sense back and decides to keep his hands up, fights like he did against Castillo, Mayweather, Malignaggi etc.. he'll come out with a late TKO or at worse a wide UD decision.
If he comes out like he did against Pacquiao.. Khan will dominate him. Khan is just as fast (if not faster?) than pac man and throws more combos.. he doesn't hit as hard as pac but he'd be able to force a TKO eventually. Khan has alot going for him if this fight goes ahead... Manny Pacquiao in his same camp to give him advice, the trainer who has already beat Hatton, and not to mention Amir is much younger and fresher.
But i'm not one to make a decision on a fight before it happens.. (or even before it gets made!) as to me it all depends on who shows up on the day.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but Khan would win. Khan does have more pop with his punches than Lazcano, and he's technically better than Hatton.

Hatton still wins even if he is on the downside. In the Barrera fight Khan got hurt a few times and MAB was 35 with one eye.
You have to love Khan for flaunting off his wealth, no wonder the UK fight fans love him so much.
