I have heard it proposed in chatrooms that it be 147 lbs same-day weigh in. Would you agree to that?

IMHO, this is even more disadvantageous for Cotto. I have read other boxing writers also comment on this, and they also agreed that same day weigh in of 147 lbs is not good for Cotto.

I am sure Pac's team would prefer 147lb same-day weigh in versus 145lb the day before weigh-in.
Gatti was notorius for blowing up between weigh-ins and fight night. It can be an advantage if done safely, do it too quickly and it won't.

I'm sure they would like same day weigh-ins but if that was the case Cotto would be a least one division higher.

They switched from same day weigh-ins for safety reasons, the same as dropping from 15 rounds to 12 and increasing glove weight.

If you have boiled down in weight (& unless you're a heavyweight you'll have to cut) it takes time to rehydrate the body safely.

Roach may be looking after his fighter, on the otherhand it shows no regard for the safety of fellow boxers to ask them to cut weight below what they usually do.

Maybe Pac can move back down to 126?

The safety argument is a load of bollocks!

Fighters are not idiots! They know they have to lose the additional weight naturally to be functional. Cotto would have to be a fool to boil down the additional weight (ah... 2 pounds, even sounds stupid) the last days before the fight.
