What people don't get about PPV's is that the reason Lopez-Lontchi is PPV is almost certainly because of HBO, not Bob Arum. HBO does not have much of a budget for boxing at all this summer and when a fight like this goes to PPV its usually because HBO passed on putting it on a free broadcast.

I don't have any links or facts but I would pretty much guarantee that's the case.

Of course Pacquaio-Mayweather goes to PPV because of how big a fight it is, but PPV's of this level are usually because they can't put it on free tv.

All for young talents meeting up but this all seems a bit of a rush to me.For both guys.Might just end up canceling one another out but I think they are dead set on Gamboa producing a yes or no vote in regards to his overall career.

I guess we will see, I think people are way underestimating Gamboa here, sure JML should be favored, but Gamboa is way faster, has power of his own, and if he fights on the outside I don't see JML landing very effectively on him, he's just too much faster. Far lesser skilled fighters have successfully timed Gamboa, to the tune of many knockdowns.

I think JuanMa will fight Izzy and Marquez first, Gamboa has a lot of ground to make up just to get to where JuanMa is now. Maybe in a yera or two on a Latin Fury PPV.

I agree Sheep.. When Juanma lands on Gamboas chin its going to be lights out, already stated that Gamboa has been timed and dropped by lesser men.

I like Spicoli think this fight should be way down the road. Gamboa has alot of the goods, but is unproven against elite competion. I'd like him to take on some fringe guys like a Juarez, Solis or Cruz and see how he deals with some live vets.

If Lopez blows him out it could be fracturing to Gamboa

i agree i just see lopez being to stong and solid at this point
