Gotta love Roy for speaking his mind. I always liked him as a commentator and I hope he gets back in there once he retires.
What a lieing SOB Jones is LOL He whined like a baby when he was robbed in Seoul. He made his career out of that robbery more so than if he'd won gold. He refused to ever fight abroad "in case he got robbed again" lol One thing he did get right was that Lennox did get robbed and still acted like a man.
The worse part about this scenario is that Eugenia Williams, the blind or corrupt judge you choose which, gave the fight to Evander is STILL poluting ringsides as a judge. She now hides under the name Gene Williams though

Agreed he was blatently robbed but so were many others, but they didnt bleat whine and cry like Jones did. His being robbed of gold brought him more fame than if he'd actually won gold. Of course if he'd got the gold he wouldnt have the excuse not to fight away from home country.
Has he ever fought outside the U.S?? Nah he stayed here and fought postmen and garbage collectors while ducking his real contenders

Sorry but theres no way in hell Evander Holyfield even got near winning either fight . He knew it as well as anyone
I don't know about that. I haven't seen the fight in a while but I thought Evander edged it the second time. Lennox getting the nod in that fight was justice though.

Now way in hell the first fight was a draw. Lennox was robbed on that one.

I remember watching Roy lose in the Olympics and tears came to my eyes when Roy began wiping tears from his eyes in the ring after the decision was made. I also remember the Korean raising Roy's hand and pointing to him, basically acknowledging tha Roy was the winner. That was truly class in any language.

I always thought that Roy was a pretty good commentator, especially when commenting on what was going on in the ring during a fight. If you want proof of this, just pull out the tape of Trinidad vs. Mayorga and you will see what I mean. Everything Roy said that night came true by the end of the fight (while Larry Merchant kept jabbing Roy about getting KO'd in his recent fights, which, by the way, Roy took in stride and joked about it, showing his good guy qualities)

Jones was a fucking kid and an amateur..lewis was already a champion professional.. And from what i remember of jones in 1988 after the robbery was him saying pretty much the same thing he said on tht clip. He was considering not boxing anymore.

Jones was right,Lewis was robbed in the 1st fight. But his ability to take a conversation and make it about himself...in the 3rd person has never ceased to amaze me

Thought Holyfield took the 2nd fight.A bit of over compensation for 1st result wrong call imo.

I thought that was funny as hell..jones finding a way to talk about himself...

makes me remember when he was calling the mayweather - gatti fight..

"Yeah this fight is done, reminds me of the Jones Pazienza fight" or something like that.

Do you know Lennox was almost ready to quit boxing after Holyfield I.
Just look how he'd been treated ?? Bowe renaged on an agreed fight after the four man tournament. Bowe beat Vander, Lennox demolished Ruddock the two winners should have met. Blubber Bowe ditched the WBC belt rather than fight Lewis & get KO'd AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!
Tyson evaded Lewis twice once when King gave Lewis $4 mil to step aside so Tyson could make an easy defense first with the assurance Lewis would be next. Lennox was avoided again. The Vander "draw " debacle was almost the last straw breaking the camels back
