That's what I thougt also. Floyd's hinting Pac camp to make an offer now, coz they want to cancel the Jmm fight coz it's not selling.

If I am Pac I'll go on with the Cotto fight & let PBF-JMM to flop. Then pac can negotiate better if PBF-JMM didn't sell.

Reality is setting in that his fight with Marquez just wont sell. Mannys got a big fight with Cotto that will sell so he doesnt need Floyd

I bet a fight with Shane Mosley would sell.

Floyd is such a dick sometimes.

Just fight the guy that you signed on to fight and quit bitching!

The second argument Mayweather makes is if there is a fight to determine which man is better in the ring, he will receive the majority of the money from it.

That notion doesn’t sit well with the boxing promoter that represents Pacquiao, Bob Arum. Mayweather has already made it clear he wouldn’t consider a 50/50 split with Pacquiao because of his track record of generating enormous pay-per-view buys.

    Schaefer agrees with him.

“A fighter, just like anyone else, has a certain market value they establish over time,” Schaefer said. “Mayweather, in his last two fights did 3.5 million buys with Hatton and Oscar. Pacquiao has fought the same two guys and it did a little more than half of that.

“So, it’s difficult for Floyd, who has worked so hard to get to where he is today, to say, ‘Okay, it should be 50/50,’ because in fact, it shouldn’t be 50/50. Each guy has a certain market value and they should get compensated accordingly.”

    Schaefer makes a great point.

In my opinion, this was dumb for Floyd to say. He put more pressure on himself for the JMM fight now, assuming it goes through.. If he loses it will be that much more embarassing considering he's basically saying that JMM isn't even worthy of fighting him.

On the other hand, he did basically call Pac out straight up. Granted it's because of the money but he doesn't really ever call anyone out, and calling out the up-for-debate #1 P4P fighter has to give Floyd some credit, no?

Im a fan of both fighters but i have to say, this is a total insult to JMM. Floyd Mayweather canceled the fight then got it resheduled, because of poor ticket sales or whatever, wasting JMM's time. Now he's suggesting to call the fight off completely, so he can fight Manny Pacquiao ?

So all of JMM's hard training and time, is just a waste of time ? despite JMM not getting any younger ? and he only probably has a few good ones left in him ? you know i said who i should root for before ? i think i'll go with JMM now, hes had to work hard to get where he is, he never ducks anyone.

And he has been in some great fights and he's a pleasure to watch, the great technical fighting is a thing of beauty. And P4P wise this is actually the best fighter Floyd Mayweather has ever fought, and i've seen strange upsets happen, especially with Floyd Mayweather's lay off.

It is a huge insult and it's just getting annoying listening to Floyd spout his spiel over and over again.

Marquez is getting on and has a bout 3 fights left in him. And here is Mayweather trying to diss a fight that he himself has already signed up for and already cancelled once.

Floyd signed up thinking it was easy money and isn't so happy now that sales aren't so good. What a dumbass! I hope Marquez does a real number on him.

Please note: These were not racist comments. Furthermore, I hope Mayweather gets brutally knocked out without the accumulation of any brain damage.

He could have waited till after the Pacquiao-Hatton fight and done it, instead of signing to fight JMM. Alternatively, he could have done it after the JMM fight. I think with him referring to himself as 'the cash cow', the poor ticket sales have clearly dented his ego.

AS i said in my post, it's a complete insult.. not saying that the fashion he called him out was respectful, but simply the action of calling him out.. that's all.

I come to a couple of conclusions based on Floyd's comments:

    1. Floyd really wants to fight Manny. I mean, Floyd is practically begging Manny to fight him for two reasons: a. It seems like Floyd knows he can beat Manny; b. Floyd will make a lot of money (I have a suspicion that Floy's financial problems are real, no matter his denials).
    2. Floyd will make more money fighting Manny than fighting Cotto. If Cotto beats Manny, then the fight that should happen is Cotto-Mayweather. I don't think this fight will get Floyd excited financially and may never be made. Of course, it will be another example of Floyd looking out for himself instead of endearing himself to the fans.
