^But why can't it be done now? Pacquiao isnt signed to fight anybody, in fact he's looking for an opponent. Mayweather is willing to pay out of pocket to free himself to fight Pacquiao.

I just want to see the effort from Pacquiao & his people to get this fight signed. This is the fight the people want, he's wifdely regarded as a people's champ. Give the people what they want. Or atleast make an effort to.

I'm with you man; I'd love to see the fight. It could be done now; but the Cotto negotiations are still going on so who knows? I'm just saying some of this could have been alleviated if Floyd and his "tune up" fight would have been put on the back burner. Just cause' Floyd says "jump" now doesn't mean Pac should. Maybe that's it; Pac's camp being stubborn. How would I know?

knodaledge you do realize JMM has a say in this right?

Some people are taking this offhand comment from Floyd too seriously, its not happening. The Floyd/Pac debate starts for real after the JMM fight, if he wins obviously.

Good. And yeah I know and said yesterday I hope JMM says hell no to the take a walk $$$ just to spite him. It's insulting to me. But what if he takes the money to walk? What then?

I'd be pretty shocked. I know its a free million dollars but JMM is a fighter who thinks he has a chance to win (I'm sure) and he gets 4 million for fighting. This could be his last huge payday, 3 mill more is a big difference. And I don't really know who he can big money with outside of these two, maybe by brutalizing Ricky.

If it does well that changes things

and who even knows if Floyd even thinks its a good idea today

Floyd's not a brilliant orator, he gets bothered and says stupid stuff. It seems from reading the thing it was fairly offhand.

Until I hear more about it I don't see a reason to take it seriously.

Didn't I say the same thing yesterday Ouma?

On a different note, I heard the UFC are putting up a show against this fight.

Yeah he is a fighter; and he's got to be at least somewhat peeved about this snubbing{if it's true} And hell yeah 4 mil is alot better even should he lose than 1 mil; and then years from now people saying "he was scared and took the lunch $$ and ran". Can't see it. Hope I don't see it.

And how funny a farewell fight for Hatton in UK only to get steamrolled by a geezer this time.

He does have a say, but not enough of a say to stop a Pac/Mayweather fight. Mayweather could just decide he's not going to fight JMM. He'll breach contract & I'm sure he'll have to pay a monetary penalty & maybe even take a ban in nevada, but the fight could be sanctioned anywhere. No body in their right mind would refuse to allow a Pac/Mayweather match.

There's ways around contracts & if it brings about the BEST FIGHT POSSIBLE, I'm all for it.

Again, I dont think Pacquiao MUST take the fight. If the stipulations aren't worthy, fine. But his people should at least be pushing for it now. Issue a statement at least.

I seriously doubt Pacquaio's people are going to issue a statement (its not a magic wand anyway) urging Floyd to breach his contract with JMM.

Everyone knows this fight is going to be on the table soon assuming Floyd wins and assuming Pac wins if he even fights before that, I assume he will. There's too much money on the table for Pacquaio's people to not go after it and vice versa.

Anyway if Floyd had wanted to fight Manny in his first fight back he would have waited till the day after the Hatton fight to decide who he was going to fight. I doubt there are serious discussions to get out of the JMM fight unless the fight is doing extremely poorly economically. I don't really know how poorly its doing.

I really doubt its doing poorly enough that they would buy JMM out of his contract. It would have to have sold on a similar level to the Dawson-Tarver II fight to justify that, & as the cheaper level of tickets have all sold out (I've checked today as I was considering going over) I really doubt it's doing as badly as some people make out.

You would think its gotta do 500, 000 buys. I would think. I mean he did 300 plus vs Baldoajamu I think.

It will be interesting to see how much Pacquaio vs Cotto does in comparison. I'm sure if it does clearly more Mayweather will say Cotto was a bigger draw and I guess he'd be right. Come to think of it I don't know how I'd rank JMM on the "draw" scale. I guess not as high as he should be.

one thing i dont want to happen is if pbf demands the lions share on pac. its pretty obvious now that pac should be getting the upper hand money wise. if pbf wants it he should agree to pacs terms not his. if he still insists to get the lion share then thats an indication that pbf doesnt want to fight pac.

This is what I dont understand. Why should Pacquiao get the lions share?

In their 2 common bouts (against Oscar & Hatton) Mayweather's sales were double that of Pacquiao's. I'm not saying that Mayweather generated the buzz, because it's obvious Oscar & Hatton did more than their share. But shouldn't the fights with Pacquiao have blown away the numbers Mayweather did with the same guys? If Pacquiao brings more to the table than Mayweather, his fights with Oscar & Hatton should've crushed Mayweather's numbers. But he did only half.

The bottom line is profits and Mayweather does have more of a claim to generating more profits against their 2 recent common opponents than Pacquiao has.

We can say Pacquiao is the cash cow, but in black & white Mayweather has the proof. Mayweather's last 2 fights sold better than Pacquiao's last 2 & they were against the same 2 guys. Hard to deny facts.

Knodaledge. That was then, this is now. Stop living the past. Stop thinking like Floyd. Pac is the draw right at the moment so he's the one who'll calling the shot and not Floyd. Floyd is still retired as far as I'm concern. He will get to unretire himself OFFICIALLY after he fights JMM. Capisce?
