As for Andre I can speak for him.
He knew he was to die young from complications due to his giantizm and strain on heart amongst other nasty things.
So he said fuk it Im living hard and fast. He would drink many bottles of pure spirits in the bar with the lads and would take women in the same quantities and was well loved in his home town and everywhere else in the world.
Great Man.
There is a really good article in Hogan's book about Andre's drinking, how he loved saki and would always pick up on the little asian bartenders. They were supposed to ride together on some bus somewhere or something like that. Anyways it was Andre's birthday and Hogan forgot so he went and bought a whole case of wine. Andre was really happy and thanked him, Hogan tuned out and heard two bottles clinking and turned around and the case was half empty in the span of liike 5 minutes. That's incredible.

On May 1, 2003, in Marietta, Georgia, Luger called 9-1-1 from his home and reported that Elizabeth was not breathing. She did not respond to mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, and paramedics rushed her to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Luger's phone call was later aired on an episode of WWE Confidential. Elizabeth and Luger were taking mixed pills of hydrocodone and alprazolam (Xanax) with vodka. Luger was arrested later that day after a search of the residence revealed a number of illicit controlled substances, including anabolic steroids, OxyContin, synthetic growth hormone, testosterone, and alprazolam. He was charged with 14 drug possession counts, 13 of them felonies. Luger pled guilty to the charges on February 3, 2005. He was given a $1,000 fine, and sentenced to 5 years probation.[
