I've never watched a MLS game. Strangely I just don't enjoy watching soccer as much as I do football or basketball.

The US team has been up or down these past couple years I mean we just lost to Honduras a while ago, but I guess beating Spain outshines that...we can't get complacent, we've got to keep getting better and be consitent.
The MLS, shit it's small stuff compared to any other league. It's a minor league compared to anywhere else, but the good news it's stayed around this long, and little by little it's gained ground and it's helped develop our players.
Just noticed this thread.
I would say that one thing helping ( at least in basketball and baseball) is the ridiculous 100+ game seasons. That's alot of tickets being sold. You also have the "best of" playoffs, which rake in big money.
I dislike both sports for that reason. You can drop 20 games in a row and still have a championship season. Madness.
In the NFL every game is important. You can't just shrug your shoulders and say, "We'll get next week." Also, in football players wear helmets which hide their faces and can make them less of a commodity. In the NBA every other player is a star.

Well for the people in the US it's the way it always has been, I don't think it would be horrible for the Premier League but hell that would never happen anyway.
It's basically just a set Group stage but we throw in some out of conference games between conference matches and there are definently out of conference rivalries.
I used to love MLB and followed it alot. The A's and Dodgers for a long while.Would keep running stats, etc. The strike ruined it.....have never been into it nearly as much since. That and frankly it can draaaaaaaaag on forever. The game has no time restraints,no clock.
NFL is immense but down south college ball blows it out of the water.People get fanatical following it.
Couldn't agree more Spicoli...I always feel there is something I am missing in sports from the time the BCS championship ends till the first kickoff in September of college football.

So much intensity, they go all out and are not quite the prima donas some of the over fed pros come off as.This economy is in the process of claiming Tulane's sports teams.....cutting funds quite a bit.LSU on the other hand is a juggernaut.Saints often run second place to the purple and gold.
i am gonna make an effort to watch NFL this september
what has Madden retired from commentating?
