I think the KG trade is huge being that KG is just one of those players that all he needs is good people around him and he'll make things work.
I def. see them going into the Conference.....
About Dante, well that all depends on how healthy he can stay. IMO the second he starts with having a littl pain here and a little pain there forget it that alone will be the downfall for him at Radier Nation....
I think these kinds of things are desperation moves by team management. Basketball is a team sport, it's not just about one player. Sure, Garnett will probably help the Celtics, but what happens if he gets hurt? If you remember the great Celtics team of the 80's, it was Parrish, McHale, Bird, D.J., etc., not just one guy. The Celtics need to build a team again with some new young talent.
That may be true but a basketball superstar can have a much bigger impact game after game than another sports star can. Yes its a team sports but they are all essentially trained to do the same things. In football you have different positions and offensive and defensive specialists. In basketball you gotta really be decent at everything and if your great at atleast one thing you'll impact the game.Originally Posted by Canvasback
You would think that in the Eastern conference a team with Garnett, Allen and Pierce should be as good as anybody. Its not like its just Garnett. I have no idea who they have around them, I don't really follow basketball much until the playoffs and since Boston hasn't gotten there lately its not like I catch many of their games.
Who else is there, Cleveland, Chicago, Miami, Detroit. They should be as good as any of them.
As for Dante, I don't think he's anything great. I guess he'll start for a year. Actually, I live in the south and watched Russell play all the time and I'm not totally sure about him. He's very talented but still, something about him I'm just not sure about. Lot higher on Vince Young, couldn't believe he wasn't the number 1 pick last year. Everybody was talking about Reggie Bush but I would have taken Vince Young, that dude's one of the most poised college quarterbacks I've ever seen. By far the best player on the field in the National Championship game versus USC.
If culpepper ever get back to atleast 90% mentally and physically he's in the top 5 of starting qb's around the league. As you've clearly seen and will see again next year, moss didn't make culpepper, culpepper made moss. Manning lost his left tackle so you can guarantee his days as a stat monger are gonna be sidelined for a few years. A left tackle is THE most important line position. You give culpepper a respectable o-line and a decent running back and he's getting you in the playoffs (on an nfc team). If tom brady can't win a superbowl with the lineup he has this year on both offense and defense, it proves just how overrated he really is. 2 upper echelon wideouts a proven rookie an amazing defense, etc.
I believe that Daunte Culpepper will never be the QB he once was. The reason I think this has to do with his knee injuries and his massive size. His weight will not carry well on those bum knees and the more playing time he gets the more wear and tear he will have to endure. I say he will never play a full season again.
Besides, even when he was 100% mobile he was throwing INT after INT and fumbling that ball every chance he got. It's tuff to excel once you've trashed your knees.
He will make a dependable backup for the remainder.
You do realize that if the season peyton got mvp (04 i think) he didn't have those stats, it would've went to culpepper? They're not trashed, he just wasn't fully healed last season. Carson palmer had a very similar injury and he's still fine. It just took culpepper longer to heal because 1. hes over 30 and 2. they rushed him back. He won't be 100% but he will get very close and would probably be a quality starter for atleast half the teams around the league. You're gonna tell me he's less of a gamble than trent green? Even if he won't be able to scramble anymore, he'll be a poor man's manning (can't run worth a damn but has a very strong arm and some pretty good accuracy).Originally Posted by BoxingGorilla
Well I think Boston needs to get some role players around their big three and anything less than a Finals appearance will be a let down...Daunte if fully healed is a pretty good QB...As a Dolphins fan I was very dissapointed in 1. That they signed him in the first place with such a bad injury and 2. That they rushed him in....That being said LA's line isn't very good and I think Culpepper is going to get banged up.

He won't start for the raiders (who are in oakland, its not the 80's van :P) jamarcus russel will. He's better than losman, grossman (hopefully he doesn't go the chicago because then atleast favre can sneak in the playoffs one more time), pennington has to be about done, there's several options.Originally Posted by VanChilds
