Floyd should win but I think JMM will make this a lot more interesting than anticipated. I see some nice fireworks and about a 8 rounds to 4 decision. No real knockdowns but Floyd will not respect JMM's power or size so he will stay in the pocket quite a bit. JMM will not only counterpunch in this fight.

    Sorry folks... IRS, LOL.

Must be a combination of my aversion/evasion views on paying taxes...

    Apologies.

I agree, but I think Floyd should respect Marquez's power, he's been stopping tough guys. Also Marquez is really fast, not quite Pacquiao or Mayweather speed, but he's just a knotch slower, and if he puts in a high work rate like we saw Calzaghe do against Roy JOnes Jr, Mayweather might not be able to get off at all. That being said, for all his defensiveness, if you look back at Mayweather in the lower weights even 140, he doesn't mind banging, he isn't a pussy in the ring, and he doesn't mind trading shots.

I don't know why people aren't excited for this fight, the overall skill level that is going into be in that ring is probably higher than anything we've seen in a long, long time. I'm thinking the 80's welterweight matchups. The only other one that comes to mind is Roy Jones Jr- Hopkins, but that was too early in their career.

I actually could not remember, hard as i try, recalling a battle between counterpunchers that turned out as a smashing slambang type of a fight.

The formula for a good fight has always been a slugger vs a counterpuncher, or boxer vs slugger, for these type of match-ups to an extent, guarantees at least a good scrap.

The JMM vs PBF, at surface level seemingly is a duel between counterpunchers. It is a lot more than just this as i can see now.

Both are HOF warriors, and putting a limit to their skills in fighting is surely misplaced.

This initially was the prevailing thought that I leaned towards. It has now since changed as things have started to take shape. I believe now that the pressures for a great performance will necessitate both fighters to take further risks in their match, thereby if I am right, a promise of a slambang affair.

Otherwise, a yawner, if in fact they should keep the fight at their preferred safe levels. The moonwalk vs the duck...endless several repeats later ....that is it, an overview of the fight.

I am hoping for the first scenario, the slambang, tactical but full of action and with surprising excitement. Goes without saying... that will be more bang for my buck!

I do not think Mayweather is not a "trading shots kind of fighter"... ever. He's way too smart for that. He ain't called the pretty boy for nothing.. The fact that PBF is dropping back down to 14(3?) does not mean he is going to go in the ring and actually throw more than 30 punches a round.

What gets me about this fight is JMM is a fighter that adapts to his opponent and matches his level of intensity. He does not like to get out shined. When the other guy bangs he bangs back, when the other guy boxes.. he counterpunches. What bothers me about this is PBF has that ability to dictate a fight's pace. I just don't want to see some pitty-pat BS fight like I think it could wind up being. Floyd WILL be on his bicycle most of the fight.

Marquez is a better inside fighter than floyd and can hold his own in the center of the ring. It's the same story as every other PBF fight.. if you can get him behind on points you can make him fight. If not, well you get some crazy judge's scores like the ODLH fight, where you have no idea how to give rounds out.
"Floyd needs to inject Xylocaine into his balls to gain the courage to fight Pacquiao."

    - and I quote from some random guy on the internet

With PBF having the size advantage over Juan, this increases the probability even more. I am hopeful this will not be the case.

How much bigger Money will be over Juan Manuel will be something worth to consider? The write up says, Marquez has gotten bigger, I doubt if it will be quality or sinewy muscle, considering the short period of time that this should have been acquired.
