So it would have been more credible for Manny to fight some flat out bum than a smaller but better fighter in Larios? Not like I cared about the Larios fight but at least he knew vaguely what he was doing. Anyway I don't care, I just found that funny.

As for the second part. The only thing that is odd is the catch weight. Challenger or not the "bigger" fighter is always gonna get the money, venue, etc. And remember when the whole thing was first being brought up it was Cotto who said 145 but nothing less and it ended up being 145. I would have preferred it to be 147 but if Cotto comes out looking fresh the night of the fight I don't see a reason to complain.

I get the anger about the belt, I just don't care. And it really doesn't have anything to do with this fight, its just that I don't care about alphabet belts. Manny's not going to defend it in the traditional sense anyway, LOL he's not going to be taking on Kazahkstani mandatories. Manny and his super fans (me?) will talk about him being an 18 division champ and a lot of people will call BS, in the end I don't care too much.

either way whats the difference from what Pacquiao did with Larios to what Mayweather is doing with Marquez? i mean aside from the fact that Marquez is coming off two sensational KO wins instead of a TKO loss, and is ranked #2 p4p right now

I have no idea. I was skimming the posts to be honest.

I don't see much of a problem with Floyd fighting JMM. I don't see what could possibly be the problem with Pacquaio fighting Larios at that point. Not every fight is a super fight, its only when you start stringing together crappy fights that there's a problem, although I don't think he'd bother with a Larios type fight right now.

no what i mean is that people are complaining about the fact that Floyd is fighting a "smaller" man and according to some he's already made a habit of it, forgetting he started at 130

Well technically he always has been bigger than JMM but I think the criticism of Floyd by some, obviously not all, is that he's looking to fight at welter but not really fight the big strong welters.

Weight and how "big" a guy is is hard to tell from just where they start, Oscar started between 130 and 135 but he's obviously a bigger framed guy than say Chop Corley who started at 140. Even though its an amazing accomplishment that Pacquaio came from 112 to 147 it doesn't mean he's small now, he was a solid 135, probably is a solid 140 pounder and seemed to have some trouble making 130 towards the end.

Floyd I thought looked real solid towards the end of his 140 run and looks like a decently solid welter now. Obviously wouldn't be considered a big strong welter compared to some guys. Was he "bigger" than Sharmba Mitchell or Zab or even Ricky? I don't know, he didn't look smaller or physically at a disadvantage. I think he could look pretty strong against JMM.

Still not sure if I've answered the question.

one look at Floyd and it's easy to see he's no natural welterweight, if anything i'd say he's a natural Lightweight, jr.welter at most

The point is, Cotto fans are so afraid that it will be Cotto's loss for Pac's immortality and Cotto would go down in history as the biggest fighter Pac ever faced and defeated and become a 7 time champion

If you are so sure about Cotto's skills and talent, 2 pounds wont matter.

It's just a weigh-in limit, Cotto can weigh up to 170 come fight night and Pac would never argue with that.

you out done yourself again, so if floyd is a natural lightweight or jr. welterweight then why not fight jmm at those division instead?

Hey was pac avoiding the natural featherweight at the time he fought bantamweight Larios? did he fight Rafeal Marquez instead of Juan Manuel Marquez, or Isreal Vazquez instead of Eric Morales?
