Not another one...![]()
This is truely sad
Vernon seemed like one of the good guys in the sport. This is getting crazy with fighters going like this![]()
Jesus Christ...
I read the article and apparently he didn't just let them jack his car.
He chased them down the street with a gun and was shot 7 or 8 times and killed.
A fighter right up til the end.
RIP
Vernon.
God bless you.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
I don't know what to say, take care people there are some crazies out there.

Vernon was one of the most respectable men of any sport. Maybe even in life. Great boxer but an elite person. May God bless him and his family.
just from watching that clip i get the impression that even after his days as a fighter would of been up, he would of still had a bright future as a trainer, IMO all the tools, patience, desire to help, skill, knowledge, it's a fucking shame that men like this are taken away, especially when it's done by the very thing he was trying to eliminate, i hope the chicken shit bastard who shot him from behind ends up with a fate far more gruesome than the one he dished out
I knew of his deeds outside the ring, and it made me like him more. Inside the ring he was a great talent whom I was looking forward to seeing again.
For the record, I thought he won the second Mayorga fight.
R.i.p Champ
First A.Arguello, then A.Gatti, then M.Tyson's daughter... now V.Forrest. Who next ? Very sad news. His back to back victories over Mosley look even better when you look at what Mosley has done since. Still a suprise to me that he was easily Ko-Ed by Mayorga and then also lost their rematch on points but very sad day for boxing and will be sadly missed
This is getting a little scary now. Three legends in a month. Fucking insane. Anyway rest in peace champ.
jesus christ another one. The boxing gods sure are pissed for some reason
Forrest never did it for me but you have to respect any guy with a record like his and anyone that is killed so early into their lives is tragic
RIP - thoughts and prayers go out to the family
one dangerous horrible bloke
He did a lot of work for charity, remember Sky showing that work about the time he was beating Mosley and thinking what a good guy he was. A Big loss to boxing and the community he lived in.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Wow i've just come on, so shocked by this it really is unbelievable. R.I.P Champ.
